• Plan, coordinate and manage the outages on transmission systems, that includes preparing 400kV & 132kV switching programs, contingency statements / plan.
• Handling commissioning activates, where coordinating between projects, commissioning, EMS, SCADA and protection sections is done to fulfill new substations and equipments commissioning.
• Updating DEWA network diagram following every change.
• Coordinate with Distribution level for transformer outages
• Preparing switching program with single line diagrams for 132kV & 400kV circuits, Bus coupler, Bus section, GTR and Bus bar outages
• Prepare switching instructions for commissioning/ load testing on new substations.
• Study of transmission system parameters in coordination with system security on a daily basis and suggest necessary changes required to the load dispatchers for improving system quality.
• Prepare contingency statements and contingency plan for critical outages whenever required.
• Preparing daily outage schedule taking into consideration of System Security and Reliability and handing over the same to Transmission control room engineers one day in advance to execute the planned outages
• Prepare annual outage window program for all Projects and maintenance activities
• Prepare and send monthly outage schedule after reviewing the annual outage program and monthly program of IBT/IDT outage from DOP (distribution operation planning) to all concerned.
• Coordinating and sending switching program two days in advance to all concerned departments.
• Critical coordination of certain outages with reference to projects pre-planned outages and with reference to the system point of view and being able to follow-up with the huge development projects in Dubai (Metro, Palm, …etc.).
• To coordinate with DLF and other EMS Applications specialists in order to analyze the study results and recommendations.
• Update Job Management System. Keep track of Work and caution permits
• Attending meetings with concerned maintenance and Projects teams to discuss and finalize long outages durations and coordinating with all parties to avoid outage repetition.

• Monitor, analyze, dispatch and control the operation of all transmission, generation and interconnection facilities to insure reliable service to customers.
• Monitor line loading and take necessary actions to maintain it within operating limits.
• Supervise voltages to maintain them within technical limits.
• Supervise the operating reserve and take appropriate action to maintain all types of reserve according to criteria.
• Control economic operation using “Unit Commitment and AGC” software to synchronize load or shut down units.
• Monitor system frequency to maintain it within technical limits.
• Control network configuration to ensure spot contingency system conditions within emergency limits and short circuit level within switchgears rating.
• Take appropriate action when forced outages occur to restore network status to normal operating limits.
• Analyze forced outages and disturbances using “Sequence of Events” software (SOE) and protection schemes.
• Restore power supply and grid at minimal time under power interruption conditions.
• Aware of SCADA system functionality
• Interconnection Dispatch and Operation of Egypt-Libya tie-line.
• Interconnection Dispatch and Operation Egypt-Jordan tie-line.
