The role that I played as Junior Project Manager for Proman was to work closely with the development manager, the professional team, main contractor and sub-contractors, this dedication and hard work of all the role players has set a new bench mark in the Sun International Group for the quality and exclusivity of their new flagship hotel; The Maslow.

Controlling, monitoring and reporting on project progress and risks of the construction of a villa on the island of Ithaca in the Ionian Sea.
Impact of current legislation and regulations with regard to the traditional landscape of the island and use of materials with regard to different design solutions and construction processes.
Business acumen when dealing in a foreign culture has been a great challenge, in terms of establishing time, cost, quality and function control benchmarks.
Leadership skills, motivational skills and risk management expertise was complex when working on this project, due to the isolation of the island.
This was achieved by, establishing communication and management protocols.
Managing the feasibility and strategy with regard to importing material and contractors externally from the island, whilst balancing the equilibrium by creating local employment and contributing to the sustainability of the island. This was highlighted by the difficult financial and political external factors crippling the economy.
Establishing the project budget and project program.
Coordinating legal and other regulatory consents with the mayor of the island with regard to the expansion of the public road.
Managing the preparation of design and construction schedules.

During my contract work at Base One Projects I successfully completed the R 9 million budgets and project managed the finishes on an office block in Melrose Arch, within 6 months start to finish.
