The faculty aims to provide a basic theoretical and practical knowledge on the isolation, production and quality control of natural and synthetic drugs and each step in drug production and to equip the students with the necessary biological and pharmacological knowledge of drugs to be used efficiently with patients. Theoretical knowledge in pharmacy management is another field of study. The departments of the faculty are: Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences (General Chemistry, Basic and Molecular Biology), Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Botany, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Toxicology, Pharmacy Management, Pharmaceutical Technology (Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Cosmetology), Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, and Radiopharmacy The faculty runs a Drug and Poison Information Centre (HIZBIM) which offers professional information on poisons and drugs from 9:00 to 17:00 on a live hot-line. The faculty also supports the research methods of the Doping Control Centre. put on practical work. In the final year, students can take elective courses depending on their own interests in the following fields: community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry and research. Students also have to attend the apprentice programme in their second and third years. The interdisciplinary research laboratory is designed for research and quality control both for scientific study and training. Assessment is by practical work, coursework and examinations. The faculty is one of the largest science faculties in Turkey and highly qualified research is carried out in various fields. The faculty also prides itself with a number of scientific collections in the Biology Department.
