This is a part-time role. The role of the ISV is to monitor the management and delivery of BTEC programs at Edexcel centers, provide the support for theses centers, review their resources, and provide guidance. The ISV also undertakes sampling of assessment and internal verification decisions for units from a range of qualifications within a Principal Subject Area (PSA) to confirm that standards have been achieved and to ensure that centres’ programmes are being assessed and internally verified to the required standard. The ISV also produces accurate, professional reports for centers and Pearson on the: sampling undertaken; outcomes reached and support provided, within agreed service level agreements. In addition, the ISV makes judgments and where it is found that assessment or internal verification decisions or processes do not meet the required standard, apply appropriate sanctions. finally, the ISV produce a targeted action plan for a centre when required standards are not being reached
This is a part-time role. The Validation Panel’s main role is to look into the qualifications’ fitness for purpose, its access and progression as well as industry and business market needs before being registered on the National Qualification Framework.
Making sure that training, delivery, assessments and all training aspects are conforming to quality standards of all quality authority that we adhere to such as Qualifications Authority of Bahrain (QQA) quality and the awarding bodies that we deal with such as Edexcel, CIPD, AAT, NEBOSH, RoSPA, Cisco, Microsoft, British Saftey Council and others.
Member of Bahrain Qualification Framework project workgroup since it started in 2010. The project is aiming to develop a national framework for Bahrain that sets out the standards and levels at which a qualification can be recognized. The project is being piloted now and aimed to be launched on 2014.
Managing the training affairs at BTI. There are 11 training divisions offering more than 70 training programs of different types at different levels. The levels of the programs vary from programs for school leavers, job seekers, to professional and career development. Most of the programs are internationally accredited by international awarding bodies e.g. Edexcel (BTEC and London Examination) - the biggest British awarding body. Professional development course are run through partnerships with CIPD, NEBOSH IOSH, ROSPA, AAT, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Prosoft, CompTIA, EC Council and others. There are also specialized tailored made training programs and courses that are offered for the industry. The total number of staff in these divisions is about 200 (mixture of Ph.D., M.Sc, B.Sc, and Diploma holders).
A member and chairman of different BTI committees e.g. the BTI Executive Committee, the Staff Development Committee, the Purchasing Committee, the Training Management Committee, … etc.
Establishing and Running the Cisco Networking Academy at BTI in February 2001 as the first Academy in Bahrain. In 2006, I managed to promote BTI to a Regional Academy covering Bahrain. As the person in-charge of the Academy, I recruited all the Academies in Bahrain under BTI supervision currently. Under my Academy management, BTI Cisco Academy has achieved three regional awards (2008 to 2010) and been selected as one of eight Cisco Academies worldwide to participate in the pilot scheme of the new Academy restructuring project which started in 2011. The Cisco Academy at BTI now plays three out of four roles in the Academy structure (Academy Support Center, Instructor Training Center, and Cisco Academy) and cover Bahrain and Kuwait. I teach CCNA, CCNP, and CCNA Security Academy curriculums. I am also CCNA Instructor Trainer.
Managing one of the biggest departments in BTI. The department consists of 45 staff (mixture of Ph.D., M.Sc, B.Sc, and Diploma holders) that delivers and average of 750 training hours/week. The Department runs the internationally accredit BTEC First Diploma, National Diploma, and Higher National Diploma programs in Computer and IT. Besides that, it offers servicing mathematics courses for all BTI programs. It also offers specialized professional and tailored courses for the industry. Established all IT Academy international partnerships and affiliations with the IT leading institution such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Prosoft (CIW), Thompson Prometric and Pearson VUE testing centers and founder of the first Cisco Academy in Bahrain at BTI in Feb 2001.
Assist the Deputy Director General, Training in managing and running the day-to-day activities in the training divisions of BTI. The National Employment Project (NEP) is an initiative from H.H. the King Sh. Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa who has allocated a budget of BD 30 million to solve the unemployment problem in Bahrain. I have taken a major responsibility in the preparation, planning, and campaign that preceded the launch of the NEP in January 2006. I have also worked closely with the NEP consultant EFI International. I have been involved in the development of the different NEP processes e.g. registering the unemployed, developing training programs, nomination and recruitment process, developing IT systems … etc
Managing a department that consist of six different training division in BTI. They are IT Academy, Electrical and Electronics, Instrumentation and Chemical Technology, Mechanical and Motor Vehicle, Civil Engineering, Math and Science, and the Health Safety and Environment Division. These divisions represent the major training department in BTI with a staff count (mixture of Ph.D., M.Sc, B.Sc, and Diploma holders) of 124 out of 328 total BTI staff. These divisions runs the internationally accredit BTEC First Diploma, National Diploma, and Higher National Diploma. They also offer specialized internationally accredited professional training programs and tailored made courses for the industry. \n A member of different major BTI committees e.g. the BTI Executive Committee, the Staff Development Committee, the Training Management Committee, … etc.
The Consultive Committee for Information Technology Training \nMember of the Consultive Committee for Information Technology Training (CCITT). The CCITT is national committee formed by HE Mr. A.Nabi Al-Sho’ala the previous Minister of Labor and Social Affairs. The members constituting the committee are coming from different organizations that are related to the IT industry and training. The role of the committee was as follows: \n• Provides a complete study (international, regional, and local) about IT. \n• To seek the requirements of the local job market in the IT field in number of vacancies and majors. \n• Decide on the suitable training programs that suit theses needs. \n• Select the proper institutions to implement the different training programs. \n• Provide the consultancy in IT training to the High Council for Vocational Training.

Managing a team of 10 technicians that provides the technical computer support (hardware and software) for all BTI staff and about 600 PCs in BTI. I was also in charge of administering and looking after BTI network (Windows NT4.0, 2000 Servers and more than 800 PCs of mixed Windows environment). With the Support Unit I have managed to carry some projects to expand BTI network and enhance the services provided by the network e.g. introducing e-email to BTI staff.
