Design and development of aids to navigation and marine equipment, coastal protection systems, and floating platforms.
Design and Engineering:
• As the design manager of GIAD Marine Industries, I am responsible for managing the
conceptualization and development of many types of vessels.
• Led a team of Naval Architects, Structural Engineers and Marine Engineers to create
designs that met all necessary safety and regulatory standards.
• Oversaw the detailed design process, including preparing workshop drawings and
design review documents.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, incorporating new
technologies and methodologies into the design process.
Management:
• Managed projects, effectively coordinating the design team's efforts and ensuring
milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Collaborated with clients to understand project requirements and provide innovative
design solutions.
• Conducted design evaluations and feasibility studies to ensure project viability and
efficiency.
• Developed and implemented design standards, procedures, and best practices to
optimize design workflows and ensure consistent quality.
• Fostered a collaborative and creative work environment, promoting knowledge
sharing and continuous learning among team members.
Construction Supervision:
• Provided on-site shipbuilding supervision at the shipyard and managed any issues
that arose during construction.
• Worked closely with the shipyard team to ensure the vessels were built to the
highest quality standards and that all necessary modifications were made
promptly.
• Provided solutions to any unforeseen problems during construction, ensuring the
project stayed on schedule and within budget.
Design marine vessels and floating structures including conceptual design, stability
assessment, structural design, hydrodynamics analysis, powering, propulsion, and
systems:
• Performed stability and structural analysis to ensure compliance with IMO
regulations and classification society standards.
• Calculated powering, analyze propeller performance, perform propeller engine
matching, and develop related systems and equipment.
• Prepared general arrangements, isometric drawings, shop drawings, and bills of
materials.
• Prepared asbuilt drawings upon the completion of the project and control achieved
documentation.
• Perform numerical simulations of hydrodynamics behavior and structural response
to evaluate new designs using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite
Element Analysis (FEA).
• Conducted experiments on new or modified vessels and oversaw trials and system
tests.
• Operation and maintenance of Khartoum North Power Station.
• Follow up on manufacturing manuals, develop and maintain procedures and serve as a resource to others in boiler operations, steam turbine operations, gas turbine operations, water treatment plant, and various auxiliaries in the plant (emergency diesel generators, fire-fighting pumps, demineralization plant, air compressors, gas stations, fuel oil systems, HVAC systems, and closed cooling systems).
• Organize routine tests of plant safety, protection and control devices.
• Analyze faults and defects and decide on repair actions.
• Oversee daily plant maintenance performed by the operation team while on shift to ensure operational targets are achieved safely, commercially, and within strict environmental and contractual limits.
• Calculate plant efficiency and Prepare and analyze performance reports.
• Study and suggest any modifications which can improve the plant efficiency.
• Review and comment on the drawing for approval of new modifications.
• Submit incident reports and recommendations on corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide training to assigned staff, take appropriate decisions and direct plant operators during plant
emergencies and prevent further deterioration.
