Duties Performed

 Owned full accountability for all credit operations for AED.600Million company Annual Turnover, and base of over 3, 000 customers consisting Hypermarkets, Supermarkets, Groceries, Hotels, Fine Dining restaurants, Catering Companies, wholesalers / Traders, Meat Processors, Ship chandlers.
 Head the Accounts Receivable Department by implementing credit control policies and working with the team to follow up with customers for collection of payments as per due dates.
 Dimensions External Interfaces: Customers Credit Insurance companies, Handling debt collection agencies
 Obtain adequate credit insurance coverage from the insurance providers Carry out physical visits to customer premises if the credit insurance evaluation does not match with sales team s credit limit credit period requirements and provide feedback to GM, Assigning & revising Credit Rating.
 Set credit limits for customers based on insurance evaluation, expected trading volumes etc. using approved forms and documents, work closely with the legal department in cases of legal action fraud such as trial, preference action claims, small claims court, arbitration, post-trial judgments. and provide all necessary documentation needed Based on learnings from past instances, take steps to prevent credit control incidents.
 Internal Interfaces: Sales Warehouse QC Legal Key Result Areas Assessing credit risk and providing inputs to the management for setting credit policies and credit limits Ensuring compliance to credit policies.
 Monitor all receivables by actively discussing and tracking the same with the concerned accountants Help the accountants to coordinate with the sales team customer if required Block invoicing and prevent further supplies to customers who are defaulting on their payments unless approved by the senior management
 Providing receivables reports to the sales team, Finance Manager and the Management as per schedule Key Deliverables Receivables Credit Control
 Ensure that all customers are billed in accordance with the company s credit policy Review credit policies and procedures periodically to assess gaps, and recommend changes to the Finance Manager and GM
 Approve credit notes for short payments by customers subject to adequate reasons and evidence furnished by the customer sales team warehouse team QC teams regarding the adjustments
 Ensure that the receivable accountants complete customer accounts reconciliation on time and as per policy
 Provide timely and accurate MIS information to the Management on a periodic basis or whenever requested
 Other Supervisory Responsibilities General Plan departmental activities, capture performance data and review and analyze data. Implement control procedures to minimize performance deviations.
 Play an active role in recruitment process by screening resumes and conducting preliminary interviews.
 Induct new employees in to the department by explaining role, responsibilities and key performance indicators. Provide on the job training to new members who join the department. Conduct performance appraisals for department staff.
