Responsible for procurement, setup and commissioning of a $8 million paperboard converting house. As the project manager, responsibilities included managing a motivated team of 6 functional managers to ensure completion of the project within specified budget and time lines. \n \n• Planning: Budget planning and control for different activities of the project like procurement, overhauling, civil construction, erection, commissioning and technical support. \n• Design: Co-ordinate with an external consultancy for technical design and finalization of material flow inside the converting house. Ensure that the overall project is environmental friendly with minimum power consumption. Automation of manual process to reduce labor costs by 30 percent. \n• Execution: Co-ordinate execution of the project by participating in procurement negotiations with overseas/indigenous vendors, contract finalization of different activities with multiple contractors. Delegate responsibilities within the project team and manage risks and conflicts \n• Monitoring: Monitoring and scheduling of project activities using a project management tool - Microsoft Projects, to ensure timely completion of the project.
Core member and internal consultant (PM and external procurement) of the SAP implementation project rolled out across the organization with 4 manufacturing plants across India.
• Study the business processes of external procurement (including services and refurbishment), plant maintenance and project systems and help facilitate power users to make as-is documentation.
• Re engineering of as-is processes to make them more efficient and less time consuming using.
• Creating to-be document with the involvement of consultants from Wipro and ITC InfoTech.
• Mapping of to-be document in SAP, gap analysis and customization identification.
• Testing of configuration using SAP solution manager.
• Development of non standard forms and reports in MM and PM.
• Integration of Procurement and Maintenance processes with FI, CO and PP modules.
• Conducted end user training and stress testing for over 200 users across 4 locations.
• Developed core Total Productive maintenance in SAP.
• Creation of master data templates and uploading them using LSMW.
• Uploading of cutover data and support during go live period.
• Post go live support for delta changes and developments as power user for MM, PM, and PS modules.

Optimized a six bar linkage mechanism of a mechanical press to give better output at a lower input torque using design software Pro/E and programming in C++, Input torque was reduced by 10% and the project was rated excellent by project manager.
B. Tech Project, IIT Madras Jan - May 2007
Simulated and optimized the use of various active vibration control methods on a cantilever beam using computer aided engineering software ANSYS. Highly creditable 'A' Grade was awarded for the project.
Positions of responsibility
Coordinator for Robotics : Organized Robotics event at Mechanica 2006 (technical festival of mechanical engineering department), in which over 50 teams from all over India participated. Designed and fabricated an obstacle course within limited budget and time, for use in the event.
Coordinator for Aesthetique design contest: Organized a design contest, first of its kind at Shaastra 2005 (technical festival of IIT Madras), with focus on Aesthetics and usability of products. Conducted a thermocol shaping workshop, to demonstrate the aesthetics of products designed by participants.
Sports at IIT Madras: Member of IIT Madras Volleyball team, captain of Hostel Volleyball team. As a captain, improved team work in a disintegrated team and secured 4th position among a strong pool of 13 teams.
National Social Service: Volunteered for sarva siksha abhiyaan scheme to spread the awareness of education in villages near Chennai. As part of volunteer, finished a certified course in public administration.
