QEZ 3 Um Alhoul, will be implanted in the port city of Al Waqrah, south of Doha. Extending over an area of 27 sq.km, Um Alhoul will bring together a number of activities related to metallurgy, petrochemicals, construction materials, logistics and marine industries, also benefitting from sea access thanks to a dedicated canal. Includes 103 km of roads, 1500 plots and a construction budget of more than $3B.
Over a period of 7 years, Egis team tasked with auditing the master plan designs already drawn up, delivering detailed plans, carrying out specific design studies (from conceptual to preliminary design phase for buildings and water cooling and treatment plants), supervision of construction works and PMCM services.
Container Terminal 2 (CT2) at Hamad Port, is located immediately to the North of CT1 and will be operated
by QTerminals, as a combined operation. The Project scope includes Construction of four substations
buildings, amenity buildings, refurbishment to existing facilities and external infrastructure required for
container storage and handlings.
The construction cost of the project is $150M and a construction duration of 12 months.
Formulated design for optimisation of National Road Axis of Chalkida - Psachna - Istiaia -Edipsos (section
from chainage 27+700 up to St. Anna’s Bypass).
Ensured project’s success through development of design and implementation study; reviewed
calculations, drawings, and design models/documents to ensure quality, functionality, and accuracy of
road design. Organised meetings with the ministry to provide updates on project progress and resolve
queries/concerns. Assessed constructability of design, developed understanding, identified shortcomings,
and ensured quality of the design documents.
Key Contribution:
▪ Coordinated design offices, ensuring timely delivery and acceptance of the design by the client
(Ministry of Public Works); achieved savings of up to €5M utilizing Value Engineering techniques.
Steered numerous residential projects (villas) across Athens/Greece and Bucharest/Romania, managing all
aspects of construction till the last interior details.
Enforced control over construction management of luxury residential and commercial units while strictly
adhering to budget of €32M. Audited the design to ascertain constructability, quality, fulfilled all
contractual obligations, conducted quantity estimations, assured quality/cost control, and achieved
profitable deals with Buyer - Clients.
Key Contribution:
▪ Negotiated with sub-contractors, performed value engineering through use innovative solutions and
the use of sustainable materials, and achieved early completion and handover of the properties, with
secured cost savings of 15% of the baseline budget.
Headed the project for preliminary Design for the creation in the existing Olympic radio-television center
(IBC) of a new shopping center “GOLDEN HALL” on Kifissias street, and managed the project for elaboration
of traffic design for the commercial and recreational center of Maroussi “ATHENS MALL”, Athens
Steered transit roads rehabilitation project III, Lots 3, 4, 8 & 9 (FIDIC Red Book), rehabilitating approximately
245 Km of motorways as part of €31M works contract.
Organised, conducted, and completed successfully designed audit - review under delegated authority from
Employer, also conducted tender documents auditing (inclusive of BoQ, SCC, and GCC). Ensured
conformance to technical specifications and the environmental terms through quality procedures and
application of Conditions for civil works contracts (FIDIC) during construction. Provided contracting
authority with support and assistance for managing project. Supported communication with governmental
and local administrations as well as other third parties during execution of contracts to secure
authorisations. Monitored progress and performance of contractors/sub-contractors.
Key Contributions:
▪ Evaluated the execution of contracts as per financial and technical requirements.
▪ Performed thorough audit of the existing designs and tender documents, eliminating any
discrepancy from the requirements and the FIDIC conditions of contract.
