• Analyze the aspects of logistics to determine the most cost - effective means of transportation.
• Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes of carriers.
• Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve the supply chain efficiency or sustainability
• Negotiate transportation rates or services.
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports & exports and customer issues.
• Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements
• Direct the inbound and outbound logistics operations such transportation, warehouse activities, safety performance and logistics quality management.
• Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
• Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, training or safety
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes such as customer sales, order management, accounting & shipping
• Communicate frieght transportation information to customers or suppliers, to improve the efficiency of the transportation system.
• Plan and implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
• Formulate policies and procedures for logistics activities
• Recommend the purchase of new and improved technology, tool & vehicle to increase the efficiency of the department.
• Supervise the work of the logistics personnel
• Participate in the career management processes such as selection, qualification and performance evaluation of the personnel and provide the necessary training for them to perform their tasks better
• Preparation of pre shipment and post shipment documentation, inventory plan and dispatch plan on the basis of Sales plan.
• Processing of documents related to import and export activities
• Processing of all documentation in SAP, ITMS & IFS systems
• Execution of purchase orders, letter of credits and amendments and documentation.
• Dealing with freight forwarders, foreign suppliers, shipping lines etc.
• Executive FCL/LCL, Air freight shipments with good knowledge of exports customers documentation in UAE & destination country requirement
• Clearing import shipments (FCL/LCL/AIR) in Dubai / Jebel Ali Customs with comprehensive knowledge of MIRSAL II system, documentation & customs related procedures.
• Dealing with insurance companies in case of damaged good receipt.
• Maintaining stock leaves in the warehouse by periodic stock taking and generating stock reports accordingly
• Co-ordination with warehouse team for distribution of material as per dispatch plan
• Coordinating with shipping companies, transport services, customs authorities & customers for smooth & cost effective execution of shipments
• Sales Administration like, order processing, invoicing, transport arrangements
• Handling customer complaints
• Handling cross trade shipments from Far East to our company branches in Turket & South Africa
• Processing of temporary out/in of products for exhibition purpose
• Working closely with Stores, Sales team, Marketing dept., Warehouse & Finance dept
• Ensure all organization shipping procedures & policies are implemented consistently
• Correspond and follow up so as to ensure compliance to shipping procedures.
• Review current logistic process to identify opportunities to reduce costs and/or simplify logistics processes
