As Area Construction Manager I undertook the role of NEC Supervisor on Transnet's Saldanha heavy haul railway marshalling yard extension project. Managing multi-disciplinary construction activities. I managed a team of Resident Design Engineers and discipline construction supervisors including HSE officers.

Engineering planning and execution of ballasted track renewals on the London Underground network, Circle, Central & District Lines. Design verification, implementation, site supervision and quality assurance.
Site inspections for condition assessment and monitoring, investigate, research and data collation integral to alignment designs, alignment designs and report writing. My duties also included project planning, preparation of Form A and B documentation.

As Chief Engineering Technician at Transnet Track Technology Centre in Johannesburg, I undertook research and development including destructive and non-destructive testing of railway infrastructure components. I was actively involved in geotechnical, structural dynamics and continuously welded rail development programmes. I also served on the rail disaster management team.
In my capacity as Senior Engineering Technician at the Worcester Railway depot, I was Section Engineer in charge of perway maintenance planning for a section of the Cape Town - Johannesburg mainline and a branch line.
As Engineering Technician at the Kimberley railway depot, I was part of the technical support team for infrastructure maintenance. I did architectural remodelling of facilities to suit HSE human factor compliance.
I assisted engineers in tender compilation, writing job method statements, preparation of drawings, detailing designs on AutoCAD, preparation of schedules of quantities and bending schedules for reinforced concrete design. I was exposed to industry methods of site investigations and field condition assessments of municipal infrastructure.
12 month experiential training toward the Civil Engineering Diploma course. I was taksed in assisting the site engineer and foremen in surveying, setting out, material orders, marking of redline drwings. I supervised the precast concrete cladding contractor and also assisted the site QS with weekly progress measurements.
