Responsible for developing the HSE management system to ensure regulatory compliance, implementation of programs, policies, and procedures. Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of OHS program, policies and procedures in accordance to statutory regulations and requirements. Promote a safe and healthy work environment through continuous improvement of safety, health and environmental systems that result in the reduction of accidents, illnesses, lost time, and assured regulatory compliance.
• Developed the HSE Management systems and procedures to meet the requirements of OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (HSE Plan, EMP, ERP, All HSE required Documentations)
• Lead the HSE team and ensured implementation of the HSE Strategy and plans on the project.
• Reviewed method statements and prepared risk assessments and JHA to mitigate control measures for all identified risks associated with work.

• Prepared weekly and monthly report and recommend HSE improvement strategies.
• Ensured regular inspection of the workplace and work equipment to see that standards are being achieved and made recommendations for improvement.
• Ensured appropriate fire and emergency rescue procedures are in place and lead periodic emergency drills on the project.

Assisted the Safety Manager to ensure that identified health, safety and environment requirements are implemented by appropriate personnel and contractors in all Major Project work areas. Also ensure that HS&E processes are being adhered to (audit / assess) in accordance with client, Industry, and legislated standards for health, safety, and environment.

• Participated in safety inspections tour with management and client, identifying area that needs improvement and initiate effective implementation of required improvement.
• Lead emergency evacuation drill and ensuring that preparedness arrangements are efficient to ensure safety of all operatives working in the project.

Ensured and achieved zero accident targets during all construction and installation processes through regular pre-HSE inspections, monitoring and safety awareness training; adequate application of workplace safety practices, policies and procedures. Daily activities performed include;
• Regularly performed site inspection in compliance with main contractor’s and company's HSE regulations. Issued and tracked HSE actions and follow up to close out.
• Identified hazards and advised site management to applied adequate and effective control measures.
• Regularly performed temperature/humidity analysis and applied appropriate control measures in preventing heat stress impact on workers in line with State of Qatar regulations and HSE requirements.
• Ensured that all contractors, consultants and visitors on the site abide by the safety rules and regulations.
• Conducted regular inspections of equipment such as power tools, machines, scaffolds, man-lifts and implementation of equipment checklist for all the equipment on site.
• Ensured Third Party certification and approval of all equipment and machineries used on site. Tracked certification validity and prompt re-certification prior to expiry date.
• Daily inspection of all equipment and monitored site safety condition.
• Ensured all work permits are duly approved by authorized persons and monitored strict compliance to permit conditions.
• Ensured provision of standard PPE issued and worn at all times by employees while performing tasks on site.
• Identified and corrected unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority, and exercised emergency authority to prevent/ stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.
• Ensured proper housekeeping.
• Investigated and reported unsafe acts/unsafe conditions and near misses incidents with corrective preventive actions.

As a subcontractor safety engineer, maintained workplace safety by providing proactive safety measures that prevented potential workplace accidents through routine inspections and training; application of workplace safety practices. Activities performed include;
• Supported the contractor’s QHSE in implementing the Project safety plan.
• Assisted to ensure that Method Statements covered the safety requirements and monitored the implementation during construction.
• Provided HSE information and guidance to the site supervision on proper HSE procedures, current and potential hazards, employees training requirements.
