This private sector was focused on orthotics and prosthetics manufacturing, rehabilitation and providing other o&p centers with supplies from other countries. the center was managed by a prosthetics and orthotics technician. My roles in the center were:

1-Casting, modification and fabrication for below knee Orthotics, like Solid Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFO) for foot drop and tendon lengthening maintenance, (night KAFO) and (SMO) casting, modification and fabrication. Making Multifoam shoe insoles for shortening that isn't more than 3cm.

2-casting, modification and fabrication for modular B.K prostheses and assist in training new amputees to walk on their artificial limbs.

3-Assisting in taking the casting and fabrication of the A.K prostheses, spinal jacket orthoses and other devices.

4-selling duties for the prefabricated orthotics and other Off-the-shelf devices.

5-Hospital visits to apply specific orthotic devices on indicated patients.

6-Taking the measurements of the medical boot after deciding the specification needed like medial/lateral wedges and other specifications.Casting for the deformed foot to make a positive shoe last and send it to the shoe maker to make custom medical shoes for the patient.

7-Repairing and maintenance of the orthotic and prosthetic devices if their damage condition is not severe.

8-Supervising newly graduated technicians and teach them basic technical information.

9-Handling the communication with the unwilling to cooperate and traumatized patients and provide them with psychological support the best way i can.

10-Assist the patients with the donning and doffing of their orthotic and prosthetic devices, especially if they can't do it themselves(after getting their permission).
