• Monitor the data collection process for surveillance purposes.
• Final checking of the data before submission for analysis
• Advise Data Entry Technician information about data
• Assist the Director of Infection Prevention and Control for decision on the surveillance activities to be carried out and advise the ICPs accordingly
• Develop a schedule of infection control education for all groups including healthcare workers, infection control team members and external trainees
• Organize educational events (Seminars, special sessions) on topics related to infection prevention and control with the support of other team members
• Advise and support the ICPs on delivering in-service session in clinical areas
• Be part of the product evaluation process related to infection control products Keep a close look at the trends of infection to detect outbreaks early
• Advise relevant ICP in investigation of outbreak based on discussion with the Director of Infection Prevention and Control.
• Monitor the outbreak investigation
• Communicate with the other Infection Control Coordinator during the whole process
• Take full responsibility of assigned clinical area as and when required based on the decision by the Director of Infection Prevention and Control
• Take responsibility of any special projects assigned by the Director of Infection Prevention and Control
• Attend meetings of the Committees/task forces related to construction and renovation.
• Communicate with Environmental Health Section on issues related to infection control in the hospital including construction and renovation
• One of the “Super Users” for the Quadramed Computer data base system
• Member of the PCI (Prevention and Control of Infection) Team for JCI Accreditation
My research study was on Prevention and Control of Multidrug Resistant Gram-negative bacteria.
