The WPE Counselor responds to incidents of gender-based violence (GBV) reported by male survivors in a timely, survivor-centered and caring manner in order to ensure that survivors can heal through receiving planned quality holistic and appropriate health, legal safety and security and psychosocial care and support. The Counselor is responsible for delivering case management and counseling services. The Counselor also assists in raising awareness to prevent gender-based violence incidents from happening and to ensure that survivors of GBV know what the services available to them are and how to access them. The Counselor works with survivors of GBV, community partners such as CBOs, service providers and local authorities.

• Responsible for mobilizing the communities to play an effective role in protecting the rights of the children
• Liaise with community leaders and parents to introduce program activities and encourage community involvement in program implementation and monitoring.
• Establish and strengthen community based Child Protection Committees and ensure they are up and running according to their ToRs
• Assist CPCs in identifying the child protection risks and developing action plans to address those risks on self help basis or using the resources available in the community
• Ensure CPC are supported to conduct community-based awareness raising activities on CP issues
• Responsible to ensure that all community-based networks are coordinating with each other effectively for timely achievement of common objective and results of protection children
• Ensure that CPCs promote linkages with the CFCs, Youth Groups and other Committees in the camp particularly PTAs.
• Support CPC members to promote the inclusion of marginalized and minority groups and ensure meaningful child participation in CFC and CPC activities
• Actively contribute to the capacity building of child protection committees on Community mobilization techniques, PRA techniques, identification and responding to child protection issues in general and specific cases in particular, and administration and management of CPCs etc.
• Provide continuous technical backstopping to CPC and Child Clubs and identifying the gaps in terms of the capacity-building needs of each CPC.
• Conducting needs assessment in the target and surrounding communities, especially the children, with an aim to implement programme activities.
• Support CPCs in planning, implementing and managing routine activities, i.e., conducting / attending meetings and recording minutes of the meetings and follow up on action plans.
• Responsible to monitor, identify and refer child protection issues as per the agreed interagency protocols
* The Social Worker will respond to reports of at-risk children in a timely manner, registering and documenting these children, assisting in tracing as necessary and providing referrals to appropriate services.
# Support the delivery of effective Programs, in both development and humanitarian contexts, by:
•Proactively identify at-risk children, especially unaccompanied minors in community surrounding the Child Friendly Spaces.
•Ensure unaccompanied minors receive appropriate care in the camp and have access to all services.
•Respond to the specific needs of UAM by referring that minor to the appropriate services available.
•Work with Youth Outreach Workers to identify resources in the community to create referral pathways.
•Respond to reports of at-risk children quickly and efficiently using the appropriate forms.
•Create a safe and welcome environment for children to speak and feel relaxed.
•Ensure that the child is informed about the status of his or her case.
•Accurately document all information in standardized form and submit information to the data-entry clerk.
•Prepare a daily activity log noting the major child protection concerns of the week.
•Report any urgent concerns, new cases, or changes immediately to the Child Protection Specialist.
•Attend regular case management meetings with relevant partners.
•Liaise with community leaders and residents to introduce Program activities, explain the purpose of the program. Encourage community involvement in discussing general child protection concerns.
•Advocate with the community on issues related to protecting and caring for unaccompanied minors.
