The WPE Counselor responds to incidents of gender-based violence (GBV) reported by male survivors in a timely, survivor-centered and caring manner in order to ensure that survivors can heal through receiving planned quality holistic and appropriate health, legal safety and security and psychosocial care and support. The Counselor also assists in raising awareness to prevent gender-based violence incidents from happening and to ensure that survivors of GBV know what the services available to them are and how to access them. •Accurately document all information in standardized form and submit information to the data-entry clerk.
•Prepare a daily activity log noting the major child protection concerns of the week.
•Report any urgent concerns, new cases, or changes immediately to the Child Protection Specialist.
•Attend regular case management meetings with relevant partners.
•Liaise with community leaders and residents to introduce Program activities, explain the purpose of the program. Encourage community involvement in discussing general child protection concerns.
•Advocate with the community on issues related to protecting and caring for unaccompanied minors.
