Prior to oficially being successful in this role, I had been stepping up into this position for 10 months covering where required to do so. This lead team manager role requires strong leadership coupled with team building and motivational skills, running the shift operation daily to ensure KPIs are achieved. I partner with other departments and work cross functionally across sites in the wider business on a more strategic level whilst overseeing six Team Managers and 300 team members. A summary of my time completing this role is below:
• Responsible for achievement of KPIs and delivering a high level customer service, running the shift each day.
• Ensure H&S standards are met by making sure all near misses and accidents are immediately reported, investigated so agreed action can be implemented and signed of.
• Drive implementation of processes designed to reduce common operational issues.
• Ensure consistency across all three shifts by holding briefings on new processes and completing quality assurance checks
• Identify where improvements and cost savings can be made and the benefits to the business and team
• Lead the team managers by providing guidance to empower them in their roles to achieve the best output from them and their teams.
• All working practices are clearly defined and cascaded, regularly reviewed to assess efectiveness.
• Dealing with high level HR Cases such as Investigations and Disciplinary matters swiftly and in line with the relevant HR Advice.
• Stakeholder Management - Reporting operational status directly to the customer accountholder for SCREWFIX

I had spent the first four months at Staford in this role. The Lichfield site was a new site for Wincanton in 2017, my role was to support the start of the operations by building a new team, working within the layout of the stock to then support with the training and up skilling of the new colleagues that had joined us at Lichfield until we had a training team in place. My main objectives were:
• Coach Team Members passing on knowledge and supporting individuals to help improve their performance ensuring KPIs are achieved or exceeded. Being approachable allowing to build good relations.
• Building a culture of continuous improvement and can-do approach. High standards and make sure team are aware of my expectations by carrying out team briefs for every shift and regular check ins throughout the shift. Hands on approach and visibility with the team.
• Identifying problems/ issues and rectifying them where possible and pro-actively ensuring the next shift does not have the same problems.
• Efective handover with the oncoming shift and sending out updates to all management and general managers for what had been achieved on shift also any health and safety issues
• Provide a safe environment for the team completing accident and Investigation reporting, absence management, welfare meetings, probation reviews and conducting disciplinary hearings ensuring processes and procedures are followed.
• Review stafing levels for the department and supporting on recruitment process keeping overtime to a minimum.
