§ Maintain standards of safety and comply with Company’s Occupational Health & Safety Management System requirements.
§ Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant Codes of Practices, Standards and Procedures.
§ Provided the necessary advice and assistance to reduce accidents and potential loses.
§ Undertakes and coordinates investigations of incidents and assists in investigation of major incidents.
§ Develops and implements the procedures governing the Permit to Work system (PTW) and provides independent oversight by reviewing selected permits issued by operations personnel
§ Responds to operational related emergencies and giving advice as required.
§ Ensuring that Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’) are available for all materials, ensured personnel are trained and aware of the MSDS’ usage and its importance.
§ Follow-up day-to-day progress of engineering activities (basic and detailed) to ensure recommendations from safety reviews are implemented into the design.
§ Identifies hazards and their effect in relation to area of responsibilities and implements the departmental objectives.
§ Responsible for identifying and implementing risk reduction measure.
• Coordinate newcomer employees’ site safety Orientation
• Conducting plant inspection & inspection of fall arrests equipment and Scaffolds and Lifting equipment inspections.(hooks, chains, Webbing slings& ropes) and ensure their certified.
• Participating and initiating activities that promotes safety awareness
• Promoting Housekeeping campaign to ensure compliance with approved Health, Safety and Environmental standard and Fire prevention measures.
• Conducting fire extinguishers inspection & maintenance.
• Identification of hazards, risk assessments and proactive control measures with the notion that PPE should be considered as last resort.
• Inspection of the following: Plants/Equipment, cranes or other lifting equipment, firefighting systems, scaffolding, confined space, excavations, rigging operations, welding, etc.
• Ensuring safe use of power tools and hand tools.
• Prepares and submits a weekly site safety inspection report to the Project HSE Manager in a specified Form.
• Supervision of the placement of signage and proper safety device i.e. barricades.
• Supervision of electrical operation to ensure compliance with the international HSE codes and standard.
• Supervising and coordinating emergency drills.
• Ensuring the availability of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for all hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

• Visiting all project sites ‘Buildings’ to ensure the company’s Health and Safety Objectives are being adhered.
• Ensure all newly recruitment employees both senior and junior staffs were receiving HSE Induction before being dispatched to various projects.
• Ensure all projects safety documentation of all safety related write-ups, e.g. health and safety risk matrix, checklist, investigation reports, near miss, dangerous occurrences, inspection, audits, accident reports, man hours, lost time injury (LTI), including monthly and yearly safety statistics are well documented.
• Conduct random inspections at all building to evaluate and benchmark projects HSE compliance.
• Conduct HSE meeting with staff and highlight safety related issue at site.
• Develop HSE Minute of Meeting and ensure distribution to all participated parties
• Good knowledge of emergency procedure, regulations, and safety standards.
