Aircraft General Maintenance (AGF) Technician at AWACS Maintenance Squadron. And I work on two jobs, as the following:
First: Flight Line with following Duties:
- Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.
- Check for corrosion, distortion, and invisible cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail, using x-ray and magnetic inspection equipment.
- Clean, refuel, and change oil in line service aircraft.
- Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations.
- Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and de-icers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problem.
- Accompany aircraft on flights in order to make in-flight adjustments and corrections.
- Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards and that aircraft are ready for operation.
- Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance.
- Maintain, repair, and rebuild aircraft structures, functional components, and parts such as wings and fuselage, rigging, hydraulic units, oxygen systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, gaskets, and seals.
- Obtain fuel and oil samples, and check them for contamination.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Read and interpret pilots' descriptions of problems in order to diagnose causes.
- Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
Second: Plan and Schedule Section with following Responsibilities:
- Advise Maintenance Control of upcoming maintenance requirements
- Develop task cards for recurring tasks (Database updates, engine changes, etc.)
- Coordinate with appropriate departments to plan and schedule required tasks utilizing available ground time and personnel.
- Prepare, assemble, and issue work packages for scheduled maintenance tasks
- Prepare maintenance forecast reports utilizing available data (projected flight times, utilization rates, etc.). Advise appropriate departments as necessary
- Advise Aircraft Records Department of the accomplishment of required maintenance tasks
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance Departments to maximize utilization of aircraft down times in order to accomplish required maintenance actions.
- Determine material needs necessary to fulfill maintenance and inspection requirements.
- Coordinate needs with Materials and Maintenance Control Departments. Coordinate with maintenance flights (departments) to ensure timely accomplishment of maintenance/inspection tasks that require special tooling, expertise, or equipment.
- Develop and maintain a file for each aircraft in order to track and forecast all required maintenance items.
Award 7-Level Certificate: 7 Skill Level Duration: 24 Years (From 06 May 2003, to 05 May 2005) Description: This certificate is RSAF Bachelor's degree of equivalent, it concludes also the 5-level and 3-level. 7 and 5 Skill are On Job Training (OJT) and 3 Skill level from Technical Studies Institute (TSI). 5 Skill level 12 Months (From 12 May 2000, to 11 May 2001) 3 Skill level 12 Months (From 26 Feb 1995, to 25 Feb 1996)
Has successfully completed This Diploma in BASIC TECHNICAL TRAINING & ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE at the Technical Studies Training (TSI) in AERONAUTICS.
