Endourology and HoLEP Surgeon

• Running ward rounds and clinics including procedural clinics
such as prostate biopsies and flexible cystoscopies in addition
to theatres. Operative experience in this job includes core
urology and a variety of urological subspecialties including
endourology, oncological urology, paediatric urology,
andrology, and female urology.
Note: Most clinical activities were broadly supervised by a
consultant Urologist; however, outpatient clinics including
procedural clinics such as haematuria and prostate
biopsies were usually run independently.
• To cover Urology middle grade on call, 1:6 Rota.
• Participate in local teaching to junior doctors in Urology or
other specialties such as paediatric and emergency teaching
activities.
• Duties as part of the role as clinical and assessor at the
Peninsula Medical School/the University of Plymouth:
◦ Teaching medical students during clinical activities and
allocated clinical reasoning teaching sessions.
• Assessing medical students during clinical exams.
• Assessing the clinical skills of medical students Acted up and covered the
Urology consultant on-call role due to staffing issues on the
consultant rota. This was for a whole week during the daytime
and included the weekend and four evenings on calls. The
duties were of the consultant urologist on calls such as
managing the ward rounds, urological emergencies, and
emergency list.

run independently with a consultant available to discuss the

• This was the period before I moved to the UK, before then I
worked in Saudi As the process of GMC registration
and getting a work visa (Tier 2) took some time.

urology, neurourology, female urology, and urological
oncology. All clinical activities were broadly supervised by
subspecialised consultant Urologists. In addition to this, I had
regular urodynamic clinics ( 1 or 2 per week), these were not
supervised, but a consultant neurologist was available to
discuss more complex cases.

well as paediatric urology.

• Coinvestigator in Multicentre, /randomised, Two-period
crossover, open-label, Laboratory-blinded steady-state
bioequivalence study for Nilutamide 150mg tablets (test
product -ANI Pharmacuticals, Inc., USA)- and Nilandron 150
mg tablets (Reference product- Sanofi Aventis, USA) after a
single daily dose of 150mg Nilutamide to metastatic prostate
cancer male patient Clinical trial.

• Duties included:
◦ A year as an intern doctor, equivalent to Foundation 1 - 2
level. Attended clinics, assess patients in the wards and
emergency department, and attend operating theatres.
Clinical activities were supervised by a consultant. Worked in
different departments including rotations in Ambulance &
Emergency, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics &
Gynecology, Medicine, and Ophthalmology
