responsible for construction sites 24 hours a day, directing, and coordinating activity on construction sites, hiring and supervising workers, choosing contractors, and monitoring supplies. Preparing budgets and estimates, reporting progress to clients, and complying with legal requirements.
• preparing the site and liaising with other construction professionals such as architects, engineers, buyers, estimators and surveyors before construction work starts
• developing the programme of work and strategy for making the project happen
• planning ahead to prevent problems on site before they occur, for example, planning the delivery and storage of equipment and materials
• making safety inspections of the site when work is underway and ensuring regulations relating to health, safety and the environment (HSE) are adherred to
• motivating the workforce
• problem solving
• using specialist construction management computer applications
• Supervise all concrete Skeletons for buildings (from excavation to end).
• Supervise all landscape works.
• Make shop drawings for shuttering work
• Make bending bar list for steel work.
• Quantity surveyor / Quantity take off from the built drawing using AutoCAD drawings.
• undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
• using a range of computer packages for developing detailed designs
• compiling job specs and supervising tendering procedures
• resolving design and development problems
• managing budgets and project resources
• scheduling material and equipment purchases and deliveries
• making sure the project complies with legal requirements
• ensuring projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time
