Operations Foreman:
• Operations Foreman in Water Injection System.
• Ensures safe operation of Water Injection Clusters.
• Start up and shut down of Water Injection Clusters.
• Survey the clusters and associated injection wells.
• Adjustment of injection flows and pressures as per target.
• Carry out tasks, such as monitoring, sampling and testing.
• Preparing equipment for maintenance (isolation, draining/venting, depressurising, etc...)
• Carry out minor mechanical tasks such as greasing of valves, cleaning of strainers, repairing leaks .
• Inspect the equipments regularly and intervenes in case it is required.
• Participate in the elaboration of task risk assessment for high risk maintenance operations such as lifting operations, wells work over activities, excavation activities, ESP pull and run activities.
• Supervise the maintenance operations and ensures that all safety precautions are taken and the jobs are carried out safely according to safety procedures and issue permits.
• Ability to read PFD’s and P&ID’s.
• Raise work orders and follow up with maintenance.
• Follow reservoir monitoring programs (BHCIP, PFO, PLT etc…)
• Prepare daily reports and required office work.

Process Operator
• Process operator in Crude Distillation Unit and Gas Plant.
• Ensures safe operation of the unit and equipments.
• Start up and shut down of the plant.
• Start up and shut down of different equipments including pumps, steam turbines, off gas compressor, heaters, desalter...ect
• Carry out tasks, such as monitoring, sampling and testing
• Preparing equipment for maintenance (isolation, draining/venting, depressurising, etc...)
• Performing adjustments on operation parameters minor maintenance tasks.
• Carry out minor mechanical tasks such as greasing of valves, cleaning of strainers, repairing leaks .
• Inspect the plant & the equipments regularly and intervenes in case it is required.
• Supervise the maintenance operations and ensures that all safety precautions are taken and the jobs are carried out safely according to safety procedures
• Ability to read PFD’s and P&ID’s.
• Minor troubleshooting of process problems.
• Correction of finished products in collaboration with laboratory technician.
• Light up of flares
In Sept 2011 Arzew oil refinery underwent a major rehabilitation and adaptation project to increase production and improve the quality of finished products. I was part of the team that started up the unit initially.
