Offshore Mechanical Maintenance Motorman
Advanced Energy Systems (ADES)
Total years of experience :2 years, 7 Months
o Providing preventive, routine and non-routine maintenance for all mechanical equipment on the Admarine-V workover jack-up offshore rig at Balaeem Oil & gas fields, Gulf of Suez.
o Such equipment include pumps, compressors, marine generator engines, cranes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Radiators, Top drive system, Draw works and Jack-up gear drives.
o Providing assistance for troubleshooting and maintaining sudden equipment breakdown upon call.
o Executing the daily routine checklist to make sure all equipment run properly within the safe limits.
o Ensuring before starting any job that the required Job Risk Assessment is carried on, precautions are taken and work permits are issued.
o Reporting all activities and incidents to senior mechanical engineers.
o Participating in safety drills and firefighting, reporting any abnormalities or hazards near the work site, providing “back-to-back” information on any problems or outstanding maintenance work, etc.
o Working on two weeks basis, 12 hours shift per day.
o Led the team to design, simulate and optimize systems including an Active aerodynamic kit, body exterior
aerodynamics, fuel injection, Variable Valve Timing, Intake and Exhaust eventually leading to a breakthrough
in the team’s R&D which increased understanding and performance enhancement.
o Did the systems leaders’ selection, put the plan and the timeline for the team’s technical progress to meet with
the team’s deadlines, responsible for guiding the members from the technical and leadership aspects.
o Saved the team over 30, 000 EGP by negotiating and securing two software sponsorships with SIEMENS
ADAPCO CD and SIMSCALE CAE.
o For the first time for an Egyptian team, designed and simulated a three elements wing for the vehicle using
ANSYS T-Grid mesher, and ANSYS FLUENT as solver in both 2D and 3D simulations.
o Manufactured the wing using hand lay-up method of carbon fiber onto negative mold of foam previously cut
by CNC hot wire.
o Successfully secured 17th place for the design presentation after presenting the Body and Aerodynamics
design in front of the judging committee at Silverstone, UK.
o Led the team to achieve first place in the Hurghada qualifiers and then third place in the Abu-Dhabi regional
competition for the design and manufacture a hybrid electric vehicle.
o Was in charge of organizing the team structure, communicating with members and sub-leaders, putting the
plan and timeline and monitoring both, doing risk assessments for the timeline, also was in charge of
communicating with the airport to get required clearances for imported parts.
o Reduced the vehicle’s chassis weight by over 50% by designing an aluminum chassis and validating its
reliability using ANSYS Mechanical FEA, rather than using the competition provided Steel Chassis which
gave our team the leading edge to win the race.
o Optimized the exhaust’s tuning by brute force 1D optimization using Ricardo Wave engine simulation
software.
o Ensured the thermal reliability of the FSUK vehicle’s exhaust system and then enhanced the ducting for
reduced pressure losses using Fluid-Thermal analysis using ANSYS Fluent.
o Took a certified undergraduate field engineering internship at ESHPETCO’s Hurghada Rabeh fields.
o Led the team to design and manufacture an eco-gasoline vehicle to participate in the Shell eco-marathon
Philippines 2015 global competition that ranked 10th with record of 92.1 Km per liter.
o Did 3D CAD for the vehicle exterior using Rhinoceros 4.0
o Did CFD simulation for the vehicle’s aerodynamic behavior using ANSYS Fluent, thus successfully reducing
drag coefficient in comparison with the previous year’s milestone.
o Participated into the manufacturing of the composite body outer shell using foam negative mold cut by CNC
milling machine, then fiberglass was applied using hand lay-up
o Took fluid dynamics basics and CFD program ANSYS FLUENT course.
o Took CAD programs Autodesk Inventor and Rhinoceros 4.0 courses.
o Took a certified undergraduate field project engineering internship at the BAPETCO project
engineering department. Cairo HQ.
o Took a certified undergraduate Aircraft maintenance engineering internship at the Egypt Air
maintenance engineering division.
Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical power engineering, 2017 class. grade: Very Good (75.41%) Project grade: Excellent Graduation project: Design and simulation of active multi-element wings for FSAE car using CFD tools.
