The project includes both Hardware/Software to accomplish this task. Hardware part consists of various sensors attached to the vehicle to get some measurements like speed and direction where a USB interface is used to connect sensors to the system. Software part has client/server programs such that client application resides on the vehicle while server application resides at Traffic Department. Client application receives traffic rules from the server according to the current vehicle location. By comparing it with current vehicle status obtained from the sensors, it decides whether the vehicle is violating the rules or not and issues a ticket accordingly to send it back to the server and be recorded on the server database.
