Hydrogen production:
Natural gas to H2 and high value carbon as an environmentally friendly and economically approach.
(Catalytic partial oxidation of methane for syngas production).
Catalytic Partial Oxidation of Methane (CPOM): Development of new catalyst, Laborotary analysis, Characterization of catalyst, Setting of lab scale pilot design etc. The principle components of natural gas are methane and ethane.Natural gas is the fastest growing energy source in the world, The principle components of natural gas are methane and ethane. Natural gas is the fastest growing energysource in the world, There are different types of methods are available to produce syn gas from naturalgas such as steam reforming, dry reforming and partial oxidation of methane and their combination auto-thermal reforming.
Pyrolysis most economic and eco-friendly to handle black pollution scrap tires. After pyrolysis we generally get tire oil, steel wire and carbon black. Tire oil can be used as an industry oil or produce diesel after further distillation, while steel wire can be sold directly or send to steel industry and recovered carbon black also used in industrial raw material.
The above joint research project by TRC-PI was approved by the ADNOC and PI The Takreer Refinery has
the seawater cooling loop and fresh water cooling loop systems. Over the years, the bio-fouling became
increasingly more serious and the bacteria became more resistant to the chemical/biocide additives. In
addition to the high cost of conventional treatment methods, governmental regulations also prevent the
high dosage of such chemicals in the cooling water system. Therefore, there is an urgent need to improve
the cooling water quality while eliminating or reducing the use of chemicals to alleviate the environmental
burdens and pollution.
Pilot plant engineer- UAEU-JCCP-Takreer (ADNOC).
This project is a collaborative research effort between the UAE University, Japan cooperation center petroleum/JX-Nippon Research Institute and TAKREER to evaluate the current wastewater treatment process at ruwais refinery and to develop a more efficient and effective process for the treatment of the wastewater generated by the refinery. Detailed design of a pilot plant consisting of the most efficient integrated treatment arrangement has been carried out based on the experimental results.
