• Responsible for process design in preparation and review of specification, data sheets, process drawings such as PFDs / P&IDs / DPTDs / PSFS etc. and other process deliverables on a project. for process design in preparation and review of specification, data sheets and analysis of Process engineering requirements such as PFDs / P&IDs / DPTDs / PSFS etc. on a project
• Prepare and review the basis of design, undertake detailed calculations to develop the design and be responsible for the accuracy of these calculations
• Carry out process simulation using HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet and Pipesim etc. and prepare heat and material balance
• Carryout equipment sizing, line sizing, pump hydraulics, safety relief calculations and produce process calculation report
• Carryout dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study, etc.
• Carryout depressurization studies, flare load estimation and flare system design
• Ensuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system
• Participate in PHA, HAZOP and other safety reviews
• Be willing to mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team.
• Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Lead Engineer / Discipline heads
• Assimilating the evolution of new products and technology and updating oneself on the latest international standards in terms of engineering design practices and their applications
• Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing, and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems and assist Project and client team for decision making
• As Senior Discipline Engineer, when assigned on projects, responsible for managing the team of engineers and designers and delivering the engineering requirements of the project
• Support on tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work
• Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and pre - qualification documents in what relates to Process engineering design
• Responsible for the execution of process design involving preparation of calculations and review of process design drawings in accordance to customer specifications, applicable codes, standards and other generally accepted practices in the design of industrial plants such as petrochemical and oil refineries.
• Proficient in establishing and developing the basis of design after detailed
calculations/evaluation.
• Generate project specifications, design philosophy, PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, operation manuals to comply with clients’ requirement.
• Carry out process simulations and develop heat and material balances.
• Carry out process design for reactors, columns, drums, heat exchangers, tanks and develop respective process datasheets.
• Adept at carrying out equipment sizing, line sizing, pump hydraulics, safety relief
calculations, and producing process calculation reports.
• Carry out hydraulic design for pumps, compressors, blowers and develop respective process datasheets.
• Conduct or attend P&ID design reviews, HAZOP, IPF, SIL studies, 3D model reviews.
• Prepare design outputs, datasheets, and drawings.
• Support the Commissioning Team during plant or unit startup.
• Coordinate with Project Team and other Department Engineers to facilitate smooth progress of engineering work.
• Perform other functions that may be assigned by Department Manager
• Lead feasibility and conceptual studies on new and existing facilities and perform economic analysis and lifecycle Cost analysis.
• Lead provision of engineering input to Field Development Plan in addition to field Production facilities optimization projects, gathering, disposal and injection projects.
• Coordinate, supervise and direct Concept process engineering resources whilst ensuring Concept process engineering activities are executed in accordance with company requirements and projects are delivered on plan and budget.
• Team up with other discipline engineers to ensure alignment of the responsibilities as indicated below to achieve the Company's projects and operational targets.
• Maintains team spirit within assigned personnel and encourage team working with the project team and contractor groups. Conducts design, safety and technical audits in accordance with the approved procedures and guidelines.
• Participating in Engineering Meetings, Engineering Reviews, Project Reviews and Project Management Plan reviews.
• Maintain up-to-date process models of facilities and hydraulic models for Gathering and Export pipelines.
• Lead FEED activities and deliverables including design basis, philosophies, Heat & Material Balances, process simulation, Hydraulic and transient analysis, PFD, PSFS and P&IDs
• Review of Process Engineering documents for EPC Projects
• To coach/train Fresh concept/Process Engineers.
• developed drawings and documents, including plot plans, P&ID's, one-line diagrams, civil/structural design, surge studies, pipeline routing, alignment sheets, plats/sketches/deeds, non-environmental permitting, hydrostatic tests, etc.
• Lead the resolution of technical/engineering issues during engineering, construction, and commissioning.
• Prepare Process Engineering Cost, Time and Resource (CTR) Catalogue for projects.
• Supervise a team of process engineers assigned to a project area (supervised by Project process Lead).
• Contribute to Basis for Design, Basis of Design, and Project Specifications/Philosophies.
• Carry out/review Process Simulations Models and Flare & Blow down Simulations.
• Generate/review Heat & Material Balance (H&MB) Tables.
• Participate in Design Reviews, HAZOPs, IPF Classifications, 3D Model review, Plot plan, etc.
Perform Petrochemicals Process simulations by using and developing complicated process simulation software’s i.e. Aspen HYSYS (6.5 & 7.3), COMSOL Multiphysics 4.3, MATLAB, ChemCAD, Autodesk Plant Design Suite & AutoCAD;
Operate DCS & controls parameters in Plant Including Temp, Pressure, Level & Flow;
Responsible for ISO 9001, 2008 HSE, Documentation & their Implementations;
Prepare Process documentation, such as Heat and Material Balances, PDS, PFD, PID and Process Descriptions, & Yield etc.
