The main roles and responsibilities include the following;

1. Drive and execute all maintenance activities according to the department needs (compliance) within budget and to the required quality
o Monitor and drive PM & CM compliance to Department targets
o Manage scheduling deviations through proactive use of alternatives
2. Monitor and drive capture of maintenance records into the relevant systems
o Carry out regular PM quality audits and ensure corrections

6. Coach Supervisors for first line trouble shooting of equipment failures and in effective Supervisory skills
o Regular site visits and discussions - management by walking around

7. Coordinate the management of site contractors that related to the O&M department to ensure proper delivery of contractual obligations and commitments.
8. Support the review critical spares levels required in the university campus.
o Support the function to arrange Vendor visits / support where required

Main responsibility is to look after all electrical projects. This starts from the initiation stage; implementation and close out. The problem investigation of any process and the subsequent modification if required will have to be done through the plant change procedure. This to ensure that adequate evaluation and assessment of proposals go through different levels of authorisation before it gets the green light for implementation. The roles includes;

• Ensure plant integrity through the development and implementation of electrical inspection, maintenance strategies and acceptance standards based on applicable international standards and statutory requirements
• Establish preventive maintenance activities and ensure spare parts, special tools and equipment availability
• Develop and safely execute projects to cover obsolescence and reliability issues on time and within the approved budget
• Develop and plan the electrical scope of work and resource requirements for plant turnaround, coordinating with other discipline engineers, area maintenance teams, project engineers, material personnel, plant operators and technologists
• Review maintenance strategies and plans to ensure that proactive and mandatory maintenance activities are continuously improving the overall plant availability within optimised budgets and manning levels
• Coordinate all electrical changes (small plant changes and project plant changes) within the area maintenance team to assure high integrity, uniformity of design, standards and practices, ensuring that documents, procedures, work instructions and databases are maintained
• Ensure compliance with the company's QSHE policy and guidelines for inspection activities
• Ensure that electrical documentation, calculations and data are kept up-to-date

On this job my duty is to supervise and control the area electrical maintenance resources and activities. Ensure the area hydrocarbon targets are achieved and electrical equipment integrity is maintained. As well as preparing, monitoring and controlling annual budgets for the electrical maintenance section. The following tasks were part of my prime role;

B. Ensure safety standards and performance measures are in place and followed.
C. Ensuring all contract maintenance staff understand and are accountable to their roles and
responsibilities in safety management.
D. Ensure timely management of investigations and action item completion
E. Accountable for the quality delivery of the PDO weekly scheduled tasks for base
maintenance, assigned unit and short term contractors.
F. Coordinate 3rd party contract service work including preparation of work permits,
managing job costs and ensuring scope creep is identified.
4. Provide feedback to planning on work plan effectiveness and accuracy.
5. Ensuring project financial controls are in place prior to work execution.
6. Track and forecast job costs and delivery to budget.
