Mechanical Workshop
Leads mechanical workshop which includes repairing of mechanical equipment's, fabrication and machining work through managing 20 skilled man power.
Fabrication Shop:
•Responsible for fabrication work orders to be completed on time with Quality.
•Deputation and team making each job.
•Arrange tools and equipment for smooth and fast execution of job
Machine Shop:
•Supervise machining facility of Plant including 3 lathes, 1 Shaper, 1 Pedestal Drill and 1 Bench Grinder.
•Executes the Job according to priority and manage work orders.
•Arrange tools for replacement and for enhancement in technology.
•Arrange material including MS, SS, Brass, Copper, Teflon etc.
•Calculate Man-hours consumed for the heavy jobs.
Mechanical Fitting shop:
•It includes Dismantling of reducer gear boxes.
•Mounting and dismounting of bearing and couplings.
•Pipe fitting, Pressure gauges installation etc.
Plumbing:
•Supervise plumbing related activity through Plant and Company's residential complex.
•Prepare BoQ for new plumbing projects.
Utilities
Additional in-charge of Utilities department which is the backbone of ASL Steel melt shop.
•Manage spares (Imported, local and in-house manufactured)
•Make departmental presentations.
•Plan plant shutdown activity and execute accordingly
•Make proposal and comparatives.
•Carry out in-house projects
RO Plant:
•Run complete operation of 2 RO Plant Capacity 150, 000 GPD including filter change, backwashing.
•Maintain parameters TDS, PH and Flow Rate.
Mineral Water Plant:
•Prepare mineral water for drinking purpose.
•Drinking water is supplied throughout the plant and company's residential complex.
Pumps Room:
•Responsible for smooth supply of water throughout plant, handling around 50 pumps of different capacities.
•Perform in house repair and maintenance of centrifugal pumps.
•Alignment of foot mounted centrifugal pump by using SKF's shaft laser alignment tool.
Air Compressors:
•Provides continuous compressed air upto 8 bar.
•Perform schedule service changing filters and oil.
•Perform maintenance work on all 4 screw compressors.
Standby Genset:
•2 DG Sets under supervision (1MW, 800KW) of Cummins
•Operation when electric power failure occurs.
•Perform schedule service changing filters and oil.
Projects
•DM water pipeline: Preparing BoQ of 1.5inch UPVC pipeline, Selecting pump, valves, fittings and lay outing on AutoCAD.
•Erection of Cooling Towers: In-house erection of forced draft cross flow cooling towers and commissioning.
•Installation of 25MT scrap transfer trollies: Preparing civil foundation, rail track installation with track clamps, shifting of huge scrap transfer trolley on rail track by using 30MT EOT crane.
•Strainer by-pass pipeline: Drafting sketch of 6inch MS by-pass line, generated BoQ, In-house fabrication and welding work.
•FES duct: Drawing fume extraction MS duct of 1100mm dia. on AutoCAD, also generated BoQ.
•Fabrication of truncated cone: Made template for MS sheet cutting, Rolled MS sheet on sheet bending machine maintain roundness and accurate diameter.
•Installation of Centrifugal submersible pumps: Complete fabrication of 6inch MS pipeline with flanges, NRV and butterfly valve at the depth of 8m.
•Installation of HDPE Line in Bore Well: Prepared BoQ, Comparative of MS, SS and HDPE Line of 2.5”.
•Installation of 1.8 m dia impeller: Supervised the installation and commissioning of impeller with shaft and 700KW motor.
•Mineral water pipeline: Prepared BoQ of 2 inch GI pipeline, Selecting pump, valves, fittings.
•DM water pipeline: Preparing BoQ of 1.5inch UPVC pipeline, Selecting pump, valves, fittings and lay outing on AutoCAD.
Production Engineering
Budget:
•Preparation capital expenditure and repair & maintenance budget for the fiscal year.
Projects:
•Schedule preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project.
Plant Capacity:
•Perform time and motion study to calculate cycle time of the process. Identify and eliminate bottle neck elements.
Production planning:
•Make monthly production schedule and take countermeasure on any production short fall.
Procurement:
•Purchase of asset equipment (import & local) in CAPEX based on the plant requirement. Coordinate with foreign engineers of supplier for installation and commissioning of machines.
Achievements
•Successful approval of budget (CAPEX 423m and R&M 80m PKR) for the fiscal year 2016-17 in first attempt without resubmission.
Projects
•Exhaust system on welding production line.
•Facility development of training hall & staff office.
•Designing dust free production assembly cell.
•Creation of storage and FIFO facility inventory of parts.
•Procurement & installation of RO plant & 250 Ton mechanical press.
Quality Assurance
Customer support:
•Includes receiving of product complain or warranty returns, perform root cause analysis, propose countermeasure.
Process control:
•Conduct process capability studies and solve problem through DMAIC approach.
Achievements
•Healthy experience with various customers likes IMC, Pak Suzuki, Hinopak and aftermarket.
•Conducted six sigma project on piston rod line.
