1. Performs new account authorization—accepts or rejects applications with recommendation.
2. Sets credit limits for new customers.
3. Identifies/monitors changes in payment patterns and proposes action to avert indebtedness and ensure that credit given to customers is controlled effectively.
4. Reviews the aged debt report with the sales team to take the necessary action.
5. Supervises and reviews the task of reconciling balances (which is performed by the reconciliation accountant).
6. Manages relations with financial institutions such as credit insurance companies.
7. Prepares reports such as: customer collections, outstanding accounts, Key KPIs for the department, account reconciliations.
8. Visits delinquent debtors in coordination with sales to resolve credit issues and take the necessary action.
9. Supports the sales team to resolve issues related to non-payment of invoices and account confirmation.
10. Assists in the setting up of the credit control system.
11. Informs the legal advisor to initiate legal proceedings if debts are not paid within the agreed time.
Directed financial management functions including development of monthly/quarterly financial statements, financial forecasts and budgets. Oversee general accounting functions, including AR/AP, account reconciliation and cash management. Administer all financial management systems, evaluating and integrating new applications. Develop highly skilled accounting and financial management team to achieve established objectives. Interact with the Board of Directors and President concerning financial forecasts and reports
