Working as a Business Analyst in the Evolv Business Services department I am currently assigned multiple banks. Reporting directly to the onshore office my core responsibilities are:
- Executing month end accounting/valuation runs for major US banks and financial institutions.
- Coordinating with the onshore team (US) on a daily basis to bring them up to speed with the status of monthly and quarterly accounting executions.
- Preparing monthly summaries for all procedural issues encountered during the month along with their suggested workarounds enabling us to communicate all relevant information to the client during the month end meeting.
- Preparing control reports for all accounting processes executed during the period, which go on to form part of the client’s financial statements and internal analytical reports.
Worked as an Audit senior within Deloitte & Touche (M.E) Fujairah office and was part of engagement teams pertaining to different industries:
Major clients included:
- Gulf Pharmaceuticals (Julphar)
- Fujairah National Group (FNG)
- Al Rawasi Rock and Aggregate
- Hilton Hotels
Was responsible for:
- Planning and supervision of audits and other project specific assignments, along with assessment of business and audit risks (as per the requirements of International Standards on Auditing).
- Preparation of financial statements (as per the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulator).- Supervising and reviewing work of team members in audit engagements.
- Coordinating with multiple client departments to ensure smooth planning and completion of audits.
- Preparing business performance reviews, financial statement analysis and other related analysis designed to add value to the scope of audit;
- Performing analysis on client’s financial data, by developing expectations based on history, general market and industry conditions and investigating differences with client management.
Working as an Audit Senior in Ernst & Young Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder in the financial section of the audit department having a diversified portfolio of clients in the financial sector. Have been involved in audit of major banks such as United Bank Limited, Summit Bank and JS Bank as well as insurance consisting of insurance companies such as Jubilee Insurance, Aon Insurance and Insurance Corporation of Afghanistan.
Have also been on Secondment to Jeddah in Dec 2012 for two months. Involved in audit of Abdul Latif Jameel, Bupa Arabia, Jotun Paints and China Railways.
As an Audit trainee i was posted at Shell Pakistan Ltd where i was given the responsibility to conduct an annual audit on the labour provident fund of Shell Pakistan Ltd.I managed to learn the mechanism in which defined benefit contribution plans work plus i used MS excel to conduct my audit. Various auditing procedures were used such as analytical procedures and random sampling during the audit and accounts such as investment portfolios of the fund and bank and member balances were checked.
I am a Qualified ACCA which I completed in Dec 2009 Currently i am doing ACA (ICAEW) Chartered accountancy and i will be appearing for my final paper in July 2013.
