• Works in all technical work for both English and Arabic collections (Acquisition, Cataloging, … etc.).
• Provides descriptive cataloging, subject cataloging, classification, authority control, and bibliographic control for all materials in the Library collections.
• Ensures quality of bibliographic records through compliance with international and local standards, including MARC, AACR2r, LCSH, LCCS, OCLC, LC cataloging practices, and other appropriate cataloging and metadata standards.
• Uses the SmartPort for downloading records from the LC or OCLC and uses the AUC for some Arabic records.
• Gives necessary training to new students on the use of various index tools as well as catalog and reference questionnaires.
• Translates any necessary communications between the library and its partners.
• Coordinates between male and female libraries.
• Gives a presentation for new students, faculty, staff and visitors about the library and teach them on using the electronic resources.
• Deals with RFID issues in the library.
• SYSTEMS LIAISON Ensures the Sirsi-Dynix library management system (Symphony) is functioning properly.
• Generate the distribution desk in an adequate manner.
• Give necessary training to other staff on the use of various index tools as well as catalog and reference questionnaires.
