Smart Meter Project(South Operating Area)
o South Operating Area has 1.4+ Millions subscriber. The project is awarded to SGCC, China for Installation, Server Connectivity etc.
o Objective of this project is to adapt to future for automated meter reading, remotely control of meter etc.
o Responsible for Planning & Execution for the installation of
100A SM (Type Hybrid & NB)
100A ECCU (NB)

160A SM + ECB
CT Meter +ECB
o Quality Audit for Installation onsite for SM, ECCU and DCU.
o Advantage of this Project
Remote reading of all meters.
Remote disconnection of meters with due payments.
Detection of Tampering on meters through Alarms.
Losses Reduction Group for SOA
o AT&C losses calculation for Sector, Department & offices.
o Validation of AMR readings through other source i:e SCADA readings.
o Quarterly inspection & testing of meters at selected 132KV SS.
o Analyzing Route cause for high losses in Top 10 offices.
o Comparison of customer with low consumption in current year with same duration last year.
o Auditing Exported Energy from Power Transformer with Exported Energy from outgoing Feeder.
o Calculation of AT&C losses for selected outgoing feeder by comparing consumption of exported energy from feeder and consumption of all customers connected to that feeder.
METER MAINTENANCE(Head Office, South Operating Area)
o Regular Audit of unit offices for maintenance schedule
o Random field visit for inspection
o Regular Training to meter technician
o Training Technician for different types of meters.

Procurement and Technical Evaluation of Tools required for maintenance.
o Collection of Tools requirement from each departments
o Develop the necessary material specification in line with end user requirement
o To generate material code by entering material specification in cataloging system.
o Small items with cost less than 5000 SAR to be included under “Agreement Tools”& other to be included under “Capital Tools”
o To enter “Purchase Requisition” in SAP after quantity for each tools are finalized.
o To do “Technical & Cost Evaluation” of all bid offers by supplier.
o To do random inspection of tools after delivery to ensure compliance with standard, specification and quality requirements.

Torrent Power Ltd is an distribution franchisee from MSEDCL which covers 5 Substation..
USO (Unit Sent Out from Substation)
o Joint USO reading with MSEDCL representative at Substation.
o Liaising & Coordination for Joint USO reading
o Periodic Meter reading at all S/S
o Quarterly testing of Grid meter at all Substations.
o Preparation of Invoice based upon Energy Consumption as per Midnight data
o Assessment in case of PT missing event during Maintenance
o Preparation of Demand/PF/Event report of all S/S and all Feeder
Metering at Distribution Transformer(22 KV/440 V):
o Execution for Installation of Energy Meter on LV side of (22 KV/440 V) Distribution Transformer
o Execution for periodic collection of Meter data through CMRI.

o Calculation of AT&C Losses based upon USO & DT Consumption..
Projects Undertaken
o Installation of CTO energy meter for consumer having load>45 hp.Periodical MRI data analysis of same.
o MRI data analysis of HT consumer through BCS.
o Installation of DT meter, MRI data analysis of same after installation to examine loading, PF, energy loss etc.
o LTMD-TOD metering through MRI.
Routine work: Worked in Zonal pattern for the below mentioned department
1. Meter Management
o Execution of Consumer/Reader complaints related to meter.
o MRI data analysis of meter for verification of load, Power factor, Tampering etc.
o Maintenance& up gradation of BCS & Meter Reading instruments (MRI).
o Seal management.
o Monthly reading of HT consumer.
o Group wise MD reset for about 4, 000 LTMD services.
o MD Reset patches uploading and related coordination.
o Monthly Preparation of Zonal MIS report and preparation of Presentation slide focusing on Progress overview of Zone, Commercial/technical aspects of Zone.
2. MMR & revamping (Maintenance Dept)
o Planning of DTC revamping where maximum losses exist
o Execution for replacement of old meter with class 1 meter.
o Erection & Maintenance of MSP(Mini Section Pillar) for LT Consumer
o Execution for revamping of meters.
Achievements:
o Honored with outstanding Performance during FY 2008-09
o Honored with OTR (One Time Reward) during FY 2008-09.
o Honored with Safety Award to our Team for DT Meter Installation with zero non- compliance in March 2009 at Torrent Power Ltd.
Project taken:Human detection Robot. This Robot detects human through Pyro-electric sensor.This robot can be used to detect human easily in coal mine,collapsed building etc.
