PROJECT: Improving the Learning Environment at Public Schools in host communities
in Jordan (ILEPS).
Tasks:
− Conduct a desk review of accessible designs to be uploaded as a digital online
resource.
− Scan & assess existing materials in Jordan & the region regarding accessible designs
for public buildings (building codes, requirements for people with disabilities,
existing work plans, regulations, & practices).
− Highlight & comment on the relevant sections with a special focus on schools.
− Identify, assess & document relevant local & regional examples of inclusive designs
or solutions for the rehabilitation of existing school buildings taking into
consideration different ranges of disabilities.
− Prepare a summary for the results of the small-scale desk review highlighting
regulations, codes, & links to the reviewed documents.
Teaching assistant for the following subjects: Basic Design, Urban Planning, & Building
Construction.
Tasks:
− Attend all course meetings & prepare minutes of meetings.
− Assist in providing innovative teaching approaches.
− Mark assignments & exams.
− Conduct tutorials for students.
− Hold some office hours.
− Provide timely feedback for students.
− Proctor tests & exams.
− Perform any duties assigned by professors & the chairman.
− Assist in studios, workshops, fieldwork, & presentations.
− Jury member at project discussions for other subjects.
Member of the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) Committee.
Tasks:
− Attend meetings & prepare minutes of meetings.
− Search for accreditation requirements & present them for the chairman.
− Establish a documentation system for student projects via the E-learning portal.
− Assist directors in dealing with online platforms for distance learning.
− Collect all courses syllabuses & study them in relation to the accreditation
requirements.
− Assist in events planning (posters, roll ups, & invitations making).
− Assist in the coordination of graduation projects discussions.
PROJECT: Jordan Schools Expansion Project (JSEP) funded by the USAID. Tasks:
− Contact different authorities for data collection (MOE, MoPWH, school directorates & school directors).
− Prepare schools selection report (selection criteria, methodology, level of commitment tool (questionnaire & observation), conduct the selection process, & the school documentation).
− Prepare as-built drawings for selected schools.
− Prepare site assessment reports (site survey & findings, future needs projection calculations, rehabilitation works priorities, suggested expansion space program & location, estimated cost, & timeline of implementation).
− Responsible for site photography & photo albums preparation.
− Prepare conceptual design reports (needs assessment, space program, area schedule, floor plans, & estimated cost) & present it to the USAID representative.
− Design development & architectural drawings preparation.
− Coordinate with other disciplines (Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, & Quantity Surveyors).
− Follow up with the required approvals for tender documents.
− Organize design workshops for school directors (invitations, evaluation forms, roll ups, banners, agenda, presentation, & summary report).
− Attend meetings with contractors & follow up with site drawings & material submittals.
− Train interns & new hires on data collection & schools visualization achieving a reduction in the preparation time of design reports.
PROJECTS: W Amman hotel at Al Abdali project & The Housing Bank Headquarters (Shmiesani). Tasks:
− Follow up on the daily work of sub-contractors.
− Quantity surveying & invoices preparation.
− Prepare shop drawings & material submittals.
PROJECTS: Private villas & apartments. Tasks:
− Ceilings & partitions design with material calculations.
− Custom furniture design & 3d modeling for clients.
PROJECT: DAMAC tower at Al Abdali project. Tasks:
− Follow up with the architectural works on site.
− Follow up with the finishing works at received floors.
− Prepare some shop drawings & material calculations.
− Review material submittals & report to the site architect.
