Responsible for maintaining a secure environment through design tailored toward crime/loss prevention and security of the terminal.
•Crime prevention through design and investigation
•Act as liaison between the management and Petroleum tankers Union (PTD) on the one hand and host security Agencies for intelligence sharing and crisis management on the other hand.
•Act as liaison between the facility and government agencies such as Navy, DSS, Police, and any safety regulatory agencies.
•Establish and maintain internal process procedures to reduce any internal theft/loses.
•Establish and maintain policy and procedure for spot checks during emergency.
•Establish and maintain system procedures to ensure that both regular and irregular patrols of the entire facility are completed to maximum potential.
•Ensure that all reports are completed properly and in a timely manner so as to ensure that all matters are dully communicated and all necessary actions are commenced as soon as required.
•Coordinate investigation of all act of crime, or any losses incurred against the company or staff in other to determine those responsible and proceed with any necessary prosecution/ recover of losses.
•Maintain control of keys to ensure that only the assigned authorized personnel have access to critical areas.
•Contribute to ensuring that all staff adhere to all terminal policies and procedures.
•Ensure that all required checks, test, and inspections are completed in a timely manner where required in order to ensure compliance with all code and regulation requirements and ensure that all records are properly maintained as required.
•Ensure that emergent crisis between management and PTD union are well managed to avoid possible disruption of loading activities by managing host security agencies so that they are as civil as possible during such crisis.
•Application of business intelligence to managing contingencies that may arise in the course of discharge of my responsibility and bearing in mind the risk and profitability of the organization.
•Monitoring our processes and procedure with our operatives to ensure that the dictates of the general post/ guards order are understood and followed religiously.
•Ensure proper training and process reviews on a Monthly basis to refresh our operatives on Standard operating procedures.

•Plan daily inspection of the terminal and ensure that pep talks are done before commencement of loading/ packing activity in the plant.
•Plan and execute fire drills and create safety awareness for office staff and factory staff.
•Represent the terminal during port safety meetings.
•Ensure that near misses and incidents are reported and investigated to determine root cause.
•Ensure follow up with identified non conformities and close them out in line with the requirement of OHSAS ISO 18001: 2008 certification.
•Recommend/ initiate appropriate sanction for safety violators and mitigate plans against future recurrence.
Follow and log daily BGN security operations nationwide to ensure loss prevention and promote business continuity.
•Visit locations especially our expatriate quarters where our third party security operatives are posted and prepare weekly threats/ vulnerability reports for the security coordinator.
•Ensure that control room equipment’s such as; EVD-3500 Bomb Detectors, Id card printer, Hand held scanner, Xerox copier, laminator, projectors, car keys, travel charts, computers for vehicle tracking, access id computer, and proxy-guard clocking computer, log books, records, maps, files, databases, Thuraya phones and archives) are maintained.
•Supervise surveillance operations, retrieve footage from cctv for investigative purposes (CCTV alarms & present a professional image)
•Ensure that threat/vulnerability information is collected, collated, analyzed and reported in a timely and effective manner.
•Initiate special security measure during periods of increased risk; provide security and safety briefing to client.
•Ensure dissemination of appropriate safety information, investigation of incidents and discipline security guards on approval by coordinator.
•Taking pictures for ID cards, programming access cards and preparing ID cards for staff and contractors after employment forms have been duly signed by line managers, security coordinator and Hess manager.
•Maintain good network/rapport with security agencies for effective synergy.
