As Incharge in Overhaul workshop for Centaur 40 Gas Turbines of Solar Turbines, I schedule, plan, execute and commission the gas turbines. SNGPL has 69 Nos. gas turbines installed in different compressor stations on transmission network. Demand of overhauled / new built gas turbines is fulfilled with economical, timely and precise in house overhauling of gas turbines. Inventory management along with indenting and purchasing of spares is managed to meet the required quality of major overhaul. In house repairing of rotors, grinding of shaft journals and seals is achieved to the required degree of accuracy. Dynamic balancing of compressor and turbine rotors is a part of the routine activities. Overhauled engines are then tested in test cell facility where performance of each section of turbine engine is evaluated. Trouble shooting and performance improvements are planned and carried out in overhaul workshop according to the test reports.
