An Aircraft Mechanic is a professional responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft systems and components. They inspect and diagnose malfunctions, use power and hand tools to fix parts, and ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations. Essential skills include troubleshooting, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.
Responsibilities include completing maintenance checks, troubleshooting malfunctions, logging inspections and repairs, and organizing equipment and supplies. The aircraft mechanic will complete tasks within allotted time frames and to the strict safety regulations whicn have been indorsed and applicable regulatory body.
The Cat B1 licence permits the holder to certify maintenance work carried out on aircraft structure, powerplant, mechanical and electrical systems.Category B1. 1 Licence the privileges and function of a technician include defect troubleshooting / rectification, aircraft mechanical, electrical and electronics systems inspection and maintenance.
Checks condition of aircraft and engine, makes repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures. May direct the work of a number of Air Mechanics and Trades Helpers. May be required to fly with aircraft as flight engineer. Performs other related duties as assigned.
