Main duties and responsibilities;
• Design and development of building mechanical services (Primarily HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Fighting) for new construction and/or renovation projects.
• Liaise with architects, owners, developers and other stake holders and attend project progress/coordination meetings.
• Manage a team of mechanical engineers and draftsmen for production of mechanical designs.
• Review Contractor’s Bids and Tenders.

Major Projects
• 30 Bay Street - new 54 story commercial office space tower. 4000TR cooling and 30, 000MBH heating plant capacity. Major systems designed included the main cooling and heating plant, mechanical floor layouts & hydronic distribution systems, building ventilation and distribution system, plumbing and fire protection systems. Main features included heat recovery chillers, pressure break systems for hydronic distribution risers, non-condensing fan coil units and ventilation system designed for occupant latent load in addition to compliance with ASHRAE 62.
• 55 Charles - new 50 story residential tower. 800TR cooling capacity and 15000MBH heating capacity. Major systems designed included heating and cooling plant, hydronic distribution systems, domestic hot and cold water pant and distribution system, fire protection system and suite HVAC layouts.
• Center for indigenous community - I developed mechanical design concept and layouts for budgeting and planning of this 12000sft community center. Mechanical heating and cooling was based on VRF system.
• 900 Bay Street - Macdonald Block Redevelopment Project - This was a major renovation project for the existing building which has many heritage attributes. This being a pursuit project, involved many stake holders. I represented the mechanical consultant team during pursuit stage and later on during schematics design development phase. Main features included use of heat recovery chillers, condensing boilers, chilled beams and non-condensing fan coil units and ventilation system designed to cater occupant latent load and in addition to compliance with ASHRAE 62.

• Multiple retrofits for Chiller / Boiler plant
upgrades.
Manager Projects (May 2006 - May 2015)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Managing all assigned projects from inception
to detailed design Development.
• Development of mechanical design concepts
and implementation of these concepts in design
development.
• Coordination with Architect, Owners and other
stake holders involved in building services
design development of MEP requirements
based on concept reports and coordination
with architect for incorporation of MEP
requirements in architectural design/drawings.
• Managing a team of mechanical engineers and
draftsmen for production of designs generated
by the consultancy.
• QA/QC and review of mechanical designs and
calculations produced by the Consultancy.
• Development of mechanical systems
specifications, control schematics and control
sequences for tendering purposes.
• Development and implementation of standards
& procedures for Mechanical Engineering
Department and providing technical guidance
to junior engineers.
• Attend inspections for Testing &
Commissioning of Control systems.
Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Manager ( March 2004 - April, 2006)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Development of MEP requirements based on
concept reports and coordinate with architects
for incorporation of MEP requirements in
architectural design/drawings.
• Coordinate design development within the
office with design team.
• Assign design and drafting work to a team of
mechanical engineers and draughtsman to
meet project needs.
• Responsible for building services mechanical
designs, production of mechanical design
drawings, equipment sizing/selection,
equipment schedules, development of system
schematics, control schematics and control
sequences.
• HVAC, domestic water supply, sanitary waste
and drainage and fire fighting layouts and
calculations.
• Providing review comments on Contractor’s
material and shop drawing submittals.
• Attend Contractors progress meetings as and
when required.
• Attend inspections for Testing &
Commissioning of Control systems.
Mechanical Design Engineer (November 2000 -February 2004)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Heat load calculations of assigned projects.
• Development of HVAC layouts, duct sizing, pipe
sizing.
• Domestic Water Supply Design & Calculations
such as pump sizing, pipe sizing etc
• Sanitary waste and drainage layouts and
calculations.
• Fire Fighting Design and Calculations such as
for fire pump and fire water reserve sizing.
• Development of equipment schedules.
• Design Coordination with other services and
engineers.
• Attend meetings at municipality and civil
defence for obtaining building services design
approvals.
• Providing review comments on Contractor’s
material and shop drawing submittals.
• Attend site inspections for installed mechanical
systems & HVAC control systems.
