Job Description:
• English/Arabic - Arabic/English Translation: Convert written material from one or more 'source languages' into the 'target language', making sure that the translated version conveys the meaning of the original as clearly as possible.
• English/Arabic - Arabic/English Transliteration & Localization: a mix of translation, localization and copywriting, where the text is culturally and linguistically adapted to suit the reader, thus requiring understanding of the culture, syntax and occupational perspectives and their effect on altering the nuances of meaning.
• Create Glossaries: Clarify how words are used to ensure that consistency is maintained throughout the project with review, and feedback, thereby insuring that translations are technically accurate and client preferences concerning everything from word definitions to word choices remain intact.
Responsibilities:
• Read through original material and rewrite it in the target language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained
• Use specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used
• Use MS Word & MS Excel software for presentation and delivery
• Research legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translation
• Peer production proofread and edit final translated versions
• Retain and develop knowledge on specialist areas of translation
- Handling all types of translation at the Company.
- Drafting the legal contracts, MOU's, LOC's, MOA's ...Etc.
- Coordinate the works of the Legal Department.
- Simultaneously translate at the Company's meeting and prepare the Minutes of Meetings.
- Following up with the Legal Department email and reply to the relative inquiries.
- Performing some administrative duties with the HR & Administration Departments.
• Supervising translation team.
• Reviewing English consultations before release to clients.
• Editing & reviewing tasks done by other translators in the team.
• Attending meetings with English speaking client to interpret for concerned consultants.
• Attending conferences to interpret for legal team.
• Translation of consultations and various types of agreements and contracts.
• Translation of financial statements and other financial documents.
• Experienced in different terminology files.
• Attending a governmental translation certification at Kuwait’s Ministry of Justice
TOLES Certificate means ‘Test of Legal English Skills’. The TOLES programme consists of a structured course of legal English training materials supported by three levels of professional exams. The exam levels are progressive steps towards reaching the standard of legal English required by employers such as international commercial law firms, in-house legal teams in private companies and top-class translators.
