WORK RESPONSIBILITIES
o Employed technical knowledge, design methodology, and appropriate tools and resources to design various components to meet specified criteria of the plant as per Codes & Standards (API 650, API 620, ASME B31.3, ASME B 16.5, API 530, ASME Section VIII Div 1, TEMA, DIN, Plant Specs etc).
o Employed technical knowledge in the re-rating and assessment of high pressure piping & equipments using API 579, API 510, API 653, API 941 etc.
o Scheduled and monitored project & design activities in order to achieve an “on-time”, “in budget” and “optimized” Mechanical Package that included follow-up with all the relevant Departments to ensure timely response to action items.
o Technically reviewed the Basic and Detail Engineering documents for various projects with leading companies e.g. Krupp UHDE, DESCON etc.
o Preparation of RFQ, follow up with vendor and summarizing technical bid evaluation
o Technically reviewed and analyzed Vendor design proposals, specifications, manuals and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, operational and maintenance requirements of designs or applications in line with the site conditions, operating parameters and Codes & Standards.
o Coordinated Project Meetings with relevant interfaces to collect and disseminate information to draftsman pertaining to Process Packages / MOC.
o Technically reviewed Piping Layouts, Isometrics, bill of material, Pipe supports, Materials of construction, Design Conditionsin accordance with the plant specifications and International standards (UHDE, CFI, K-Plant, Kellogg, CF Braun, SWS etc.)
o Technically reviewed Structural Layouts, Connection Details Drawings and Bill of Materials in line with the Plant specifications and International Codes and Standards.
o Coordinated the collection and dissemination of technical information between/within all the relevant interfaces including presentation of IFC Mechanical Packages in Functional Review and Sub HSE M Meetings.
o Investigated equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions to all the relevant interfaces.
o Carried out Stress Analysis & Allowable Nozzle Flexibility of critical piping using AUTOPIPE.
o Carried out Structural Analysis of Sheds, Pipe- Racks, Mono-rails and Platforms using STAAD-PRO.
o Carried out Re-rating and Design of Vessels, Exchangers and Tanks using MICROPROTOL.
o Designed and carried out calculations for different Box ups to attend the online leakages.
o Prepared Welding Procedures and Repairing Techniques based on AWS, ASME B31.3 and ASME Section VIII as per the requirements of the area.
o Carried out Assessment / calculations of furnace outlet headers and catalyst tubes based on API 530, ASME B31.3 using Larson-Miller Curves of Metal Tek, S&C etc.
o Carried out troubleshooting to eliminate piping vibrations using practical Engineering Solutions.
