• To procure satellite imageries and topographical maps covering major watersheds in Kerala and to select major watersheds to be included for creating the information system.
• To delineate these selected watershed using GIS software.
• Digitization of Drainage network, contours, Land use/land cover, Soil map, form Survey of India toposheets.
• Creation of Thissen polygon, isohytal maps using rainfall data, TIN, DEM
• To estimate drainage pattern, drainage density, slope, land use pattern from the imageries as well as topographical maps using GIS software conforming to all watersheds selected for the project.
• To integrate all the information collected onto a GIS platform and to create a Watershed Information System.
• To analyse the potential of one of these watersheds and suggest appropriate methods of watershed management programme to be applied on this watershed
