Project: Construction of Site S23 Al Rayyan Bus Depot

Al Rayyan, Lusail & Industrial Bus Depot are under the same contract with Redco International. Al Rayyan is the first electric bus depot in the state of Qatar as well as in the middle east where first-time operations of electric buses commenced in May 2022. Recently, the World’s largest electric bus depot Lusail is inaugurated and awarded the Guinness Book of World Records.

Construction of Site S23 Al Rayyan Bus Depot Project - Part of bus stations and depots program implemented by Ashghal’s Buildings Projects Department for ’FIFA WORLD CUP 2022’ with a built-up area of 36, 977 sqm spread over a plot of 190, 785 sqm.

The project having a value of QAR 410 million consisted of two main zones: Working Zone and Living Zone.

The Working Zone includes 380 fully shaded bus parking spaces, equipped with nearly 188 electric charging devices; each of them can charge two buses. It also includes a well-equipped maintenance workshop that has several vehicle care units and is fitted with the latest tools and equipment as per the requirements of the bus-supplying company, in addition to a fueling bay, Inspection Bay, Washing Bay, Vacuuming Bay, Break & Inspection Bay, Substations (6 Nos) along with infrastructure development.

The Living Zone includes several buildings, Accommodation (4 Nos), Dining, Administration, Indoor Recreation, a Mosque, and Service with a capacity of 1400 workers along with infrastructure development.

Development and review project planning and programming. Preparation of weekly and monthly reports to senior management.

Ensuring timely, clear and concise communications to all stakeholders via the appropriate channels throughout the project lifecycle.

Supervise the staff to include; prioritizing and assigning the work; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures.

Scheduled client meetings, conducted needs assessment, explain design concerns and cost effecting options.

Responsibilities:-

Manage and oversee the day-to-day construction management of the project.

Supervision of a team of engineers for various types of job and resolving bottlenecks.

To plan, develop and organize the construction effort to formulate the most cost-effective plan to timely completion within budget and to implement the execution of that plan.

Monitor and report to Project Manager of project details, including progress, risks and opportunities in a timely manner.

Ensures all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented.

Define deliverable requirements in terms of both scope and schedule to all the team members.

Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance. Provide recommendations and institute measures for improvement by modification to operating procedures/work instructions.

Effective utilization of resources for reducing the operational costs.
