• Managed total conduct of design project from preparation/submission of shop drawings and technical submittals, co-ordination and transfer of information between all parties, keeping client updated on projects progress.
• Successfully managed multiple project programmes baseline, recovery, target and extension of time along with recovery of costs for variances and contractor delays.
• Involved in managing the handling of technical contractual correspondence, technical submittals for tenders and Value Engineering proposals.
• All design projects completed either earlier than planned or on time to agreed schedule and in budget.
• Tight financial control of all costs on projects keeping to budget.
• Successfully involved in project to obtain new contracts in 2015. In conjunction with Project Manager designed and built high specification 2-storey villa that was completed in 21 days (working 15-hour days). Construction videoed daily and used in sales presentations winning 3 major projects to build 2600 villas worth over AED 4Bn.
• Guaranteed technical documentation is correctly produced, reviewed, controlled and submitted meeting the specified project requirements.
• Managed coordination and follow-up with in-house design team for awarded projects directing production of detailed plans and integration of technical activities to ensure goals accomplished.
Current ongoing projects worked on as Engineering Manager from 2015-to date include:
• Al Dar: AED 2.1Bn construction of 1017 villas in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
• Emaar Properties: AED 850m construction of 601 villas in Arabian Ranches -2, Dubai.
• Ministry of Presidential Affairs: AED 1.7Bn construction of 1100 housing units including roads, infrastructure and landscape works in Fujairah, UAE.
Key Projects completed as Engineering Manager from 2011-2015 include:
• Emaar Properties: AED 1.2Bn construction of 1898 Town homes in Al Reem, Dubai, UAE.
• Ministry of Presidential Affairs: AED 410m construction of 410 villas in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Nakheel Properties: AED 110m construction and renovation of 523 villas in Dubai, UAE.
• Supervised piling works, successfully overcoming problems on the Oceana Residence project in Palm Jumeirah requiring need to raise platform for piling to counter hydrostatic pressure issues.
• Monitored and inspected contractor’s work ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Led progress and technical meetings with client and contractor, along with carrying out site visits for technical inspection and progress reviews.
• Deputised for the Assistant Resident Engineer in his absence in dealing with all project related issues.
• Supervised soil improvement works using Vibro Compaction method to stabilise land to be able to withstand 14 storey-building foundations.
1) Liaised with consulting companies to review the engineering specifications of overseas projects.
2) Checked conformance of specifications to the technical department directions.
3) Carried out site visits for technical inspection and progress review.
4) Update the management with projects status and proposed technical recommendations.
