Biomedical Consultant for the National Health Laboratories (NHL) project, managed by Ashghal, part
of the overall strategy for health within the National Health Strategy of Qatar. The strategy is a
comprehensive program of reforms of public health system aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The NHL will serve and support public health programs with the aim of prioritizing population-based
disease control efforts. It will support and serve a range of public health programs, including (but not
limited to) communicable disease surveillance and testing, water supply safety and monitoring,
environmental testing, and the support of public health food safety by providing food microbiology
services including investigation of food-borne diseases. The NHL will act as a center of excellence and
referral for specialist testing. It will deliver a state of the art analytical, testing, research and reference
laboratory that underpins public health services across Qatar.
Technical Duties:
Provide technical assistance to the main project consultant (ERGA) in the supervision of the pre-
installation works of the equipment and furniture, and installation, testing and commissioning of the
procured Medical equipment, furniture and medical gases.
Independant consultant to the plant engineering department at the American university of Beirut. Following-up on the medical equipment and furniture packages to facilitate the activation of operating rooms and recovery area at ACC Level 9.
FF&E Engineer reporting to the Chief of Facilities and to the hospital director.
Identify and compile information regarding technical specifications as well as coordinate with end users regarding the purchasing, evaluation and follow up of the equipment. Research, identify and compile all requirements including specifications and send to the Purchasing Department to initiate the bidding process. Obtain the bids, evaluate the received bids and raise the evaluation to the purchasing department. Figure out power and space requirements for medical equipment installations and communicate with Plant Engineering and or construction project managers. Ensure proper execution of utilities. Assist Plant Engineering and Construction Projects on all matters related to any construction project requiring medical equipment and/or furniture.
Support the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).
Senior biomedical engineer role in planning and designing of local and international healthcare projects. Consultant engineer role in generation and preparation of medical equipment packages and evaluation of tender documents as well as coordinating with the suppliers, the Hospital Administrations and the contractors and ensure proper execution of works and services . Follow-up and oversees the whole process up to timely and proper receiving, handling, installation, proper operation, receiving of required warranties/guarantees and handing over of medical equipment and furnishing.
Mapping out training plans and schedules, designing and developing training programs (outsourced or in-house).
