The primary duties of a Quality nurse specialist are monitoring patient care, analyzing the processes and procedures used in patient care and ensuring all patients receive care based on these standards.
Quality Nurse Specialist have the following roles in Acute Hospital 200 Beds (OPD, ER, OR, DSU, Endoscopy, ICU, PICU, NICU, RDU, OBS/GYN and In-patients)but not limited to:
- Initiate, monitor and educate the Nursing KPIs.
- Perform Internal Nursing audits to maintain and support nursing practice compliance to meet the best practice.
- Facilitate and support the implementation of patient safety program.
- Support and facilitate the Nursing department Quality manual.
- Facilitate the education and implementation of Accreditation Standards.eg: JCI, CIBAHI...
- Facilitate and implement the Hospital and Department Quality Project.
- Monitor and support Nursing Staff documentation by Open, Closed and focus chart review.
- Liaising closely with the Education Department for the development of training programs for staff.
- Helps in research studies. This includes assisting in subject recruitment, study implementation, management and collection of data and maintenance of project documentation.
- Support and monitor any nursing improvement plan.
