I work at AWS Safety Engineering department. The main function of the department is managing the high severity incidents for both Amazon retail and AWS cloud.
My role involves handling incidents manually, improving processes, collecting and analyzing incidents historical data, automating recurring tasks and building tools and dashboards that help making the impact of incidents shorter in time, smaller in size and fewer recurrence.
• Responsible for maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure including the HW servers, VMware products including vSphere and vRealize.
• Administering over 140 Linux servers running RHEL5 & 6 and Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 & 6: Deploying new servers, doing the daily health check, deploying new clusters and maintaining existing ones.
