SETE Saudia (SETE Energy Saudia for Industrial Projects Ltd.) started in the Kingdom some 45 years ago. It was first incorporated under the name of Petrola International and established a strong presence in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
SETE Saudia, then, expanded to various other parts of the Kingdom delivering vital projects in areas such as industrial and civil construction, development of Real Estate communities, and water treatment.
Since its inception, SETE Saudia started by undertaking large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects such as the Rabigh Refinery and Complex and the unique Jeddah Fountain and many major water treatment and marine works projects.
I am currently heading Project Controls team at one of the mega projects with Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), Saudi Arabia, project comprising of 8 Plants of total production capacity approx. 63 million US gallons per day
Representing the operations in BoD meetings, monitoring and controlling of all projects in different cities as Program, making sure of KPIs and landing the project at the target point, maintaining the balance between the triple constraints elements (Scope, Time and Cost), as well as delivering quality product, and maintaining long term relationship with prestigious client
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of Project Control staff (+25 team members of different countries) to ensure project costs and schedule are effectively managed through the various stages of a project
• Providing the senior management with business updates, rolling forecast, hit-list analysis
• Provide Project Controls oversight on all projects in the assigned business line, and ensure that systems and procedures are being properly implemented
• Ensure that all projects are properly resourced with competent Project Controls staff
• Selection, appraisal in accordance with the competency assessment guideline, and training of competent project controls staff
• Responsible for the overall administration of the project controls function for the Upstream business line
• Direct the establishment and implementation of Jacobs’s standard project control procedures, tools, systems and best practices for use on projects. Oversee modifications to these procedures for specific client requirements
• Manage, direct and motivate the Project Controls Group. Ensures PC group is technically qualified, have the required level of experience working on major contracts, in working on projects within the Oil and Gas, Power and industrial sectors, and is familiar with cost engineering, estimating and planning
• Continuously monitor Project Control performance of projects and take appropriate action, where necessary, to meet project requirements
• Support project managers and engineering disciplines within the Business Line to enhance their knowledge of using project management tools
• Lead effort in Benchmarking and Project Close-Out requirements, in order to implement ‘lessons learned’ and promote a continuous improvement culture
• Commercial Analysis, business intelligence reporting, to facilitate the decision making for senior management, remaining competitive within the market

Planning
- Planning, coordinating, scheduling, conducting review meetings and documenting issues and actions pertaining to construction schedule.
- Maintaining & preparing work force projections, tracking & reporting scope changes, schedules & budgets.
- Assisting in the preparation of performance measures, logging and tracking work requests and completed tasks.
- Developing & implementing plans and strategies to control project cost and conducting cost-benefit analysis to ascertain technical and commercial viability
- Spearheading efforts across supervising & monitoring the overall project performance on regular basis and taking steps for further improvements with a view to complete project within stipulated time frame & prescribed budget
Project Management
- Supervising project activities and handling the complete project management cycle entailing requirement gathering and final execution of projects.
- Finalizing requirements and specifications in consultation with engineering consultants / collaborators, external suppliers, contractors & clients.
- Providing consultation to Project Management Teams for development of Project Management Plan to undertake detailed planning to ensure that the activities performed in the execution phase of the project are properly sequenced, resourced, executed and controlled
- Analysing and evaluating current actual project cost against budget project cost; cost overrun to project and company management adopted Earned Value Management (EVM) approach
Construction Management
- Deploying suitable manpower and equipment / materials and handling proper planning to ensure timely execution of the projects.
- Anchoring on-site construction activities to ensure completion of project within the time & cost parameters and effective resource utilisation to maximise the output.
- Inspecting field sites to observe / evaluate condition and structures, and collecting field survey data and measurements
• Development of Project Management Plan to undertake detailed planning to ensure that the activities performed in the execution phase of the project are properly sequenced, resourced, executed and controlled.
• Instrumental in Planning, supervising & managing overall project activities
• Maintaining perfect coordination with the project team & all internal/external parties to freeze the technical parameters/ work scope to iron out any ambiguities; carrying out work measurements and providing technical validation for jobs.
• Developing & implementing plans and strategies to control project cost and conducting cost-benefit analysis to ascertain technical and commercial viability.
• Spearheading efforts across supervising & monitoring the overall project performance on regular basis and taking steps for further improvements with a view to complete project within stipulated time frame & prescribed budget.
• Performing Claim Analysis, Delay Analysis and Earned Value Analysis; analysing critical paths and report schedule status to project and company management including the activities that effect and delay major milestones and the corrective actions that are made against it and the projects' performance Index (PI), Schedule index (SI).
• Supervised overall activities as per technical specifications and identified key milestones; responsible for critical path analysis while forecasting completion timeline and finalizing target.
• Expertise in analysing and evaluating current actual project cost against budget project cost; reporting earned value progress measurement (S-curve) and productivity reports including Cost Index (CI), cost overrun to project and company management,
• Hold credentials of developing a database using MS-Access for tracking submittal / approval of project deliverables for different work packages and productivity data, to assist in future schedule estimates for buildings projects
Served as Consultant at the Business Development Unit and involved in:
- Reviewing & interpreting the competition and market information to fine-tune strategies.
- Identifying prospective clients.
- Generating business from new accounts.
- Developing them to achieve consistent profitability and enhance revenue.
- Efficiently achieved the top-line, middle-line and bottom-line targets within prescribed budget and time.
- Framed the financial models and prepared profit & loss and cash flow sheets.
- Conceptualised the operational strategies for the quality function by carrying out long term and short term quality planning in line with the organization needs.
The Attainments:
- Holds the credit of bringing SETE up to ISO 9001 accreditation by ABS.
- Capably explored new geographical areas for projects such as Nigeria; also ventured into numerous power and desalination projects in 2002
