I held the position of Senior Compliance Officer in Anti Money Laundering and Compliance Department starting from 15 November 2015 until 25 January 2018, handling the following responsibilities and tasks:

• Assist the Regulatory Service team when needed in updating the court / police received letters. Then check for each mentioned customer if he is having an account with the bank (retail or business/ commercial customer).
• Handle all correspondent banks Questionnaires and check relevant documents required for establishing new correspondent banking relationships and perform the required names checking, screening and the necessary due diligence effectively within the stipulated time.
• Handle all correspondent banks transactions inquiries related to transactions monitoring and investigation, cooperate with the concerned branch and relationship manager to reply the correspondent bank within the agreed time. Along with maintaining and updating related registers of all incoming and outgoing communications within SLA.
• Perform the daily screening check of existing customers against sanctions list, maintain and update the confirmed matches list. Contact the related account relationship manger if there is any doubt regarding any customer match if required.
• Ensure on a daily basis that the AML system related to the screening module is working properly without errors and report to IT support any errors occurred accordingly.
• Manage and handle the remittances (wire transfers and swift transfer alerts) and pre-account opening inquiries within the SLA.
• Establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with internal departments like financial institutions, remittance department and all branches.
• Coordinate with business team in analyzing the new to bank customers to establish new relationships with other foreign banks. And coordinate with KYC team when any possible /confirmed match identified during the process of account opening, then update the required internal registers accordingly.
• Perform the yearly due diligence of the bank’s correspondent banks and check the required documents which needs to be updated along with their AML Questionnaires.
• Maintain an effective relationship with the regulators and ensure complying with sanctions and regulatory regulations to avoid any breaches.
• Be familiar to all central bank policies and notices and assist in analyzing and reviewing the bank and department’s policies and procedures from compliance perspective.
• Act as the point of contact of receiving all Central Bank new notices, read and understand it and circulate it to the concerned departments within the agreed TAT.
• Ensure that all the relevant registers maintained by the unit are updated on regular basis. Attend Central Bank Inquiries for any doubts related to any of the bank customers.
• Update the required weekly, monthly and half yearly reports required by central bank and forward it within the agreed time. Assist in preparing the quarter reports for sanctions and compliance activities to the head of compliance and sanction which to be discussed during the board meeting.

• In addition to the daily tasks, replying emails for the inquiries from concerned Relationship Managers, maintain a proper follow up for the uncompleted documents, attend calls and be an excellent support staff for amicably resolving all issues.
• Checking of each type of the Retail Loans documents including Loading, opening and disbursing different types of retail loans (personal loans, car loans, staff loans and Islamic loans) in the Bank's system in addition to processing Retail Customers overdraft facilities and installments deferments requests.
