A member of GIB’s strategy implementation programme (Enjaz 2015), responsible for transforming GIB into a pan-GCC bank.
My main duties include providing regular updates and status reports on Enjaz 2015 to the Managing Directors, Chief Executive Office and Board of Directors. Furthermore, I identify the programme’s risks and define mitigation measures where required. Additionally, I am a member of the Intervention Task Force, a committee formed internally with a mandate to gap any bank-wide programme progress slippage, avoiding any delay on the progress of Enjaz 2015.
I am responsible to drive four modules (Wholesale Banking, Administrative Services, Operations and Risk Management) and four sub committees (Relocation Sub-Committee, Processes Sub-Committee, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Sub-Committee and Regulatory Sub-Committee) to deliver their scope of work and conduct regular analysis where required.
Provided financial/commercial advisory services to projects valued at circa US$1.5 billion (24 transaction support assignments, 10 valuations assignments, 3 financial due diligence assignments and 5 capital raising/disposal assignments) from various industries including property (multiple asset classes), financial services, energy intensive industries (steel, cement, aluminum, petrochemicals, oil & gas and plastics), light industries (garments, timber and cables), education, telecommunications and civil aviation. Services provided include:
• Asset valuation;
• Transaction support including, business plans/feasibility studies, commercial/financial due diligence, best use studies and business strategic reviews;
• Private placement;
• Lead advisory; and
• Mergers & acquisition.
Successfully disposed assets valued at US$53 million, and currently in the completion stages of a disposal exercise valued at US$200 million and a further capital raising exercises valued at US$20 million. Moreover, I provided advisory services for a rights offering exercise valued at US$1.3 million. Most recently, BDO was appointed to be the reporting accountant on a private placement memorandum by a reputable investment bank, my main objective was quality assure the IFRS standards of the financial projections and authenticate their financial assumptions.
In an advisory capacity, I was appointed to serve on the advisory committee for Tenmou, a business angel network based in Bahrain. The objective of the mentorship program is to provide a selection of start-up entrepreneurs an insight into the business world coupled with one-on-one couching sessions to indicate any deficiencies within the candidate’s concept and solutions to mitigate these deficiencies.
Independently engaged on conducting feasibility studies, asset valuations, financial modeling and business plans for projects in the following sectors:
Agriculture;
Real estate; and
Vocational training providers.
Conducted feasibility studies for 8 real estate project based in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia valued at circa US$ 500 million;
Carried out valuation studies for 3 real estate projects values in excess of US$ 100 million;
Carried out an asset valuation for an airline carrier values in excess of US$ 300 million;
Provide best use studies for clients within the GCC, North African and Mediterranean territories; and
Responsible for providing commentary on the property market in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar throughout the public domain streams such as TV, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines and Internet.
Responsible of providing strategic M&A advisory services to HNWI, financial institutions, and property developers across the MENA region.
Served my tenure at EYC as part of a large advisory environment with a growing clientele base. I have gained and contributed equally throughout my tenure by providing out of the box analytical approaches and receiving much appreciated coaching and training from industry leaders. Services provided were as follows:
Transaction Support
Acquisition due diligence - Provided the acquirer with commercial assessment of the potential transaction through diligent and investigative approaches giving the acquirer an adequate assessment of the transaction.
Business Planning and Feasibility Analysis
Provided business case & planning development, furthermore provided financial and commercial analysis of the project feasibility for the investor.
Financial Modeling
Provided modeling solutions for all aspects of the business including strategic decisions; forecasting, budgeting and planning; mergers and acquisitions and pricing and bid evaluation.
Valuations
Objectively valued strategies, assets, transactions, and portfolios.
