- Operate and maintaine two plants; Methanol plant and Utilities plant. The Methanol plant capacity is 3, 500 Metric Ton per Day (MTPD) and two Utilities plants with capacity of four package boilers 600 T/h.
- Manage administratively and functionally the whole operation department.
- Set departmental and individual objectives, provide feedback and coaching continuously.
- Doing continuous monitoring and improvement of the internal processes effectiveness in the departments.
- Review and implement major debottlenecking projects.
- Executed and managed mini shut downs and emergency plant trips.
- Execute and managed safely major Turnaround for Methanol plant in scale of more than US $26 MM which includes major debottlenecking projects, catalyst change out and equipment revamping.
- Effectively managed the supply of utilities to other affiliates and supported construction of new projects.
- Involved in many HAZOP review.
- Perform risk assessment and make safely many critical decisions.
- Manage and resolve a lot of business conflicts.
- Participated and contributed in a lot of committees (Safety Advisory Council , Process Safety Council, Emergency Response Team, Training, Management of Change Personnel (MOC-P), Incident Investigation, etc.)
- Worked and adopted many contingency plans during (water shortage crisis, power shortage, manpower shortage and world financial crisis)
- Cost reduction oriented which is applied in cost controls and implementing high payback cost reduction ideas.
- As a project engineer I involved in all stages of project starting from discussing the new ideas with originator, site visit, writing technical scope of work, cost estimation of the job, providing all recourses, engineering (design) work, communicate with vendors, writing the construction scope of work, conduct process safety review (HAZOP), procure the material, finalize the package, supervise the construction work, update the drawings, close the project.
•Worked on corrosion control by conducting corrosion failure analysis and write detail reports explaining the type of corrosion and the mechanism of corrosion attack as well as providing recommendations for corrosion mitigation.
•Conducted general failure investigation and analysis such as mechanical failures to identify the root causes, write reports and provide recommendations to avoid failure recurrence.
•Worked on materials evaluation and selection to improve materials resistance to corrosion attack, mechanical deterioration or to any other environmental aspects.
•Worked as the engineer in charge of the Cathodic Protection (CP) system in the company for all underground facilities and concrete structures.
•Performed monitoring and maintenance for CP systems and issuing status reports and recommend a rectification plan.
•Reviewed all design packages for aboveground and underground pipelines and seawater concrete structure as well especially for those related to materials up gradation and/or corrosion mitigation.
•Studied facility change (modification) and providing technical evaluation and input.
