Job Objective:
Offering expert knowledge and skills in order to generate and promote a positive health and safety culture. The incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders across the college directorate to plan, implement, monitor and review protective and preventative measures in order to minimize operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries. This position will also be responsible for inspecting laboratories and workplaces to minimize or eliminate hazards from processes, such as incorrect working methods, and materials, such as potentially toxic chemicals. In order to ensure safety and health compliance, the Coordinator delivers training and professional development sessions for the college community as required.
Responsibilities/ Duties:
•Participates in the development of Health and Safety internal policies, procedures and working practices for system wide college campuses
•Conducts risk assessments and develops strategies for facilitating employee/student health and safety risks
•Outlines safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards
•Conducts regular site/laboratory inspections to ensure adherence to Safety and Health policies and procedures
•Conducts staff training on Health and Safety issues and risks.
•Conducting internal audit for EHSMS at all HCT Campuses.
•Participating as an auditee in certified body audit on the HCT EHSMS.
•Prepares and maintains inspection records and produces reports that suggest improvements
•Maintains incident records and produces statistics for management as required
•Maintains a working knowledge of Health and Safety best practices and industry policy changes
•Produces health and safety related reports, newsletters and bulletins
•Advises on a range of specialist areas including fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases
•Travels to HCT colleges to attend meetings, workshops and conferences as required
•Develops an awareness of and respect for the customs and cultures of HCT students and employees.
•Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Job Objective:
To investigate new and existing health and safety regulations and recommend action that will ensure health and safety standard meet the educational demand students and teachers to facilitate learning of the highest standards.
Responsibilities/ Duties :
• Project Manager of auditing CCTV systems for all entities (185) coming under PSQA Dep.
• Conducting EHS Training for ADEC Staff and ADEC entities
• Conducting internal audit for EHSMS at ADEC HQ.
• Participating as an auditee in certified body audit on the ADEC EHSMS.
• Conducting Workshops for EHSMS awareness for the entities that belong to ADEC.
• Inspect new and existing schools to investigate whether they are compliant with Emirate laws and employer policies in the emirate, ensuring the health and safety standard meet the demand of students and teachers;
• Assist in evaluating the health and safety requirements of schools and ensure that all health and safety regulations are met through the provision of facilities services;
• Conduct analyses on the effectiveness of health and safety programs and help develop new safety practices, educate management and monitor progress;
• Prepare accident reports and support management of schools through testing to ensure compliance of health and safety regulations;
• Work with schools directly to allow ease reporting of maintenance needs for individual schools and feedback of suitability of school plans;
• Work with facilities management specialist to ensure health and safety regulations are in a line with selecting service providers for maintenance, cleaning, security and other facility related contracts.
• Participated and ensured all personnel on their visit to the site have received a safety orientation, this includes the use of induction video and keeping records of orientation-specific training is given to personnel performing specific works.
• Following up the motion of the vehicles within the plant and site during the civil foundation and blinding at construction stage.
• Checking the certificates of all the hoist and lifting plants and ensuring that comply to the safety standards and legal requirements.
• Revise the risk assessment periodically and advise with the suitable safety instruction required.
• Participating with the management safety staff in accident incident investigation for the LTA accidents.
• Monitoring the precautions attached to the work permits(electrical, hot work and the confined space) are applied properly.
• Preparing the emergency procedure for the site and the staff base office.
• Tool box talks for all activities performed within sites.
• Weekly safety tour with the senior staff for ensuring that all the violations and the unsafe condition already verified.

• Monitoring the security and the safety for all the equipment.
• Ensuring that the tools used are totally comply to hygienic measures and safe for all the customers occupied.
• Duties include monitoring of all activities to cover the commissioning and operation of machines and planning service checking on monthly checking according to manufacture data sheet.
• Operate the company permit to work system in accordance with Hotel safety procedures to ensure hazards identified .
• Establishing the control and mitigation steps to ensure safe working procedures and to minimize the associated risks especially when the hazardous non routine jobs are to be done( Hot works, confined space entry, major repairs……etc.
• Participate actively in regular emergency drills and exercises. Report on drill and highlight areas for improvement.
• Ensure fire fighting, safety and live saving equipment are in good ready- to work condition via scheduled inspection and maintenance program.
• Train the safety maintenance staff on the maintenance activities of equipment as per the manufacturer instruction.
• Checking all the electrical connections are properly maintained and periodically checking and registering all the checking and maintenance on the log book by the authorized person who appointed by the government.
• Safety inspector for inspection, reporting to the authorized persons and advise them by the proper action which should be taken, monitoring all the cover process for the unsafe condition and controlling for un repletion.
