• Ensure records and reports are provided in a timely manner.
• Act as a liaison with local regulatory bodies for radiation, explosives and lithium batteries. This includes interfacing with government agencies, customers, vendors, the procurement and materials department, the HSE department (local, and regional), Trade Compliance Department and Product Service Lines & local management (Region & Country) and employees.
• Maintain, renew, and update all licenses and permits pertaining to the use of radioactive material / devices, and primary lithium batteries.
• Ensure timely completion of all applicable local regulatory authority, customer and WFT Radiation, Lithium Battery reports.
• Account for local radioactive material inventory.
• Provide training / guidance to all district Radiation Safety Officers (RSO’s), and Battery Safety Officers (BSO’s) on the global radiation, and lithium battery standards.

•Administer the radiation dosimeter program for the country of responsibility.

•Review and audit local procedures and work instructions and promotes practices that ensure the safe usage of radioactive material in accordance with the philosophy of keeping exposure of employees and members of the general public As Low As Reasonably Achievable.

•Audit and test emergency response plans and implements changes to improve the emergency response plans.

•Advise on security control measures applicable to aspects of the radiation, primary lithium battery protection program (handling, storage and transportation).

•Support the country Emergency Management System by ensuring the inclusion of emergency response for radiation, and lithium battery emergencies.

•Investigate radiation, and lithium battery incidents in conjunction with local authority & WFT management.

•Assist / lead Root Cause Analysis for all radiation and lithium battery incidents in country of responsibility.

•Ensure the vendors for providing services and products for hazardous materials (radiation and lithium batteries) are vetted using Weatherford standards for vetting vendors.

•Ensure that the licensed radioactive material, in the company’s possession or used by the company are limited to those specified in the license.

•Inspect and confirm the suitability of radiation bunkers, and lithium battery storage facilities as per local legislation and Weatherford standards.

•Ensure proper security measures pertaining to radiation, and lithium batteries have been implemented at the districts within the country of operation.



•Conduct periodic radiation and lithium battery safety inspections of licensed activities at the job sites to ensure compliance.
