Responsibilities includes:
- Lead, manage and direct the activities of the assigned PMC team and respective projects Engineers and Contractors.
- Follow up and coordinate regular project management activities such as periodic reporting, cost and change management, risk management… etc.
- Lead and maintain communication with the Client and other project stakeholders to streamline progress of respective projects work.
- Advise the Client, the PMC team and other stakeholders about key project issues, recommend effective remedial actions and follow up successful implementation.
- Monitor the performance of respective projects Engineers and Contractors, ensure that each party is performing their contractual obligation, report any deficiency to the Client and recommend effective measures to rectify deficient performance.
As a member of the Core Team managing a portfolio of healthcare projects for Abu Dhabi Health Services Company - SEHA, including 3 hospitals, 17 ambulatory healthcare centers and a center for autistic children. Responsibilities includes:
- Design Management: give technical advice to client and other stakeholders on various design issues; scope definition and change management; manage, monitor and guide design activities; lead and guide review and approval of design deliverables; lead and participate in technical workshops and coordination activities.
- Procurement Management: participate and give advice on procurement strategies; lead and participate in contractors prequalification process; lead and participate in tendering activities, including responses to tender queries; lead, guide and participate in technical and financial evaluation of tenders; participate in compilation and verification of contract documentation.
- Risk Management: lead and participate in risk identification workshops; assess, document and report respective project’s risks; propose and follow up implementation of mitigation plans; maintain, update and communicate risk registers for each project.
- Contracts and Project Control: monitor and report progress of design activities; participate and give advice on assessment of design invoices, change proposals and variation orders.
- Communication: daily communication with Client and other stakeholder on various projects issues; preparation and compilation of various technical reports; chairing and preparing minutes of progress and technical meetings; maintaining good relationships with Client, stakeholders and colleagues, and fostering teamwork spirit.
As a member of ADNOC’s Civil Projects Division - Design Management Team, managing a portfolio of various projects, including high-rise office buildings, healthcare facilities, industrial research facilities, hospitality facilities and residential buildings. Responsibilities includes:
- Monitor performance of Design Consultants to ensure Design correctness, completeness and compliance with the scope of work requirements and the project schedule.
- Lead and coordinate the technical team’s activities in respect to Design aspects.
- Evaluate and endorse variation orders submitted by Design Consultants for Client approval.
- Assist, monitor and ensure timely processing of all required authorities approvals and building permits by Design Consultants.
- Prepare Executive Monthly Reports and submit to Client.
- Review projects strategy and provide recommendation to Client.
- Lead Design Management Team in replying to bidders clarifications during Tender stage and in preparing Technical Evaluation Reports after submission of tenders.
- Carry out Value Engineering and constructability review during the Design stages.
Projects included:
- Mubadala Office Complex (Al Mamoura), Abu Dhabi, UAE: An office complex of two state-of-the-art office buildings and a car park in Abu Dhabi city. The scope of work included modification work to the first office building and the car park building (during construction) and the addition of a new office building with a total built-up area of 28, 000 m2.
- Emirates Marina Hotel & Spa, Dubai, UAE: Conversion of a 59-storey residential tower (under-construction) into a 5-star hotel. Scope of work included design work for all required modifications in coordination with external consultants and specialists like interior designer, kitchen consultant, security and access control specialist... etc.; and in coordination with ongoing site activities.
Responsibilities included:
- Project management activities like scope definition, budget preparation, schedule monitoring and control, coordination of submissions… etc.
- Lead and participate in design activities including design development, coordination and production of construction documents.
- Inter-disciplinary coordination and checking.
- Participate in technical and progress meetings and follow up relevant activities.
Project:
- Al-Handasa Complex, Doha, Qatar: A multi-use development in the downtown area of Doha city. It comprises a commercial building, a multi-storey car park, four residential buildings and a clubhouse, with a total built-up area of 92, 000 m2.
Responsibilities included:
- Project management activities like budget preparation, schedule and budget monitoring and control, coordination of submissions, follow-up on tendering process, tender evaluation… etc.;
- Lead design development and production of construction documents;
- Inter-disciplinary coordination and checking;
- Follow-up on quality control procedures and CAD standards.
Additional activities as CAD Coordinator since April 2005:
- Developing and applying CAD standards for the architectural department;
- Technical support for other team members on CAD-related issues;
- Assessment of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and planning for implementation.
